Race 1: BRONWYN’S BIRTHDAY BASH CLASS 3 PLATE – 1300M
 
LWAZI – The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding bled from both nostrils. The horse will now be ineligible to race for three months, and prior to racing again must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
MINISTRY OF FEAR – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
ROCKY NUGGET – Began awkwardly and sifted out, making heavy contact with THE REAL SPIEL. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. Had a tendency to lay out under pressure over the final 100m.
 
THE REAL SPIEL – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground. Brushed by ROCKY NUGGET, which shifted out over the final 100m.
 
COCKTAIL THONG – Bumped on jumping. Trainer R. Mackay advised that after the mare’s performance today he will review whether to continue with its current preparation.
 
Race 2: BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
CALCULUS – Improved into restricted room approaching the 600m, was tightened for a short distance and eventually had to be checked.
 
LUCKY CHAMPION – Began awkwardly. Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn.
 
A SONG FOR GRACE – Began awkwardly and was slightly hampered shortly after the start. Had to be steadied away from heels passing the 600m and shifted wider on the track.
 
COCO FASHION – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HARPERS FERRY – Hampered on jumping.
 
MAJIKKUTESA – Hung in shortly after the start and raced greenly throughout.
 
MISS MAKEPEACE – Forced wider on the track after passing the 700m and raced four wide without cover for the remainder of the event.
 
SERPENTI – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice A. Fancourt reported that her mount raced greenly throughout the event.
 
TATCEE – Raced in restricted room after passing the 700m and had to be steadied away from heels on a number of occasions.
 
TEN LARGE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 3: DESI DRIVERS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M
 
THE DOCTOR – Had to be momentarily steadied away from heels near the 900m. Became awkward in its action and blundered passing the 300m and was not fully tested over the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
ROSENBAUER – Raced three wide without cover throughout and commenced to hang out after passing the 700m.
 
ARCING HARD – After arriving late on course the horse was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Slightly inconvenienced passing the 900m when cramped for racing room.
 
AUREOLA – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: MATTHEW GUSE MEMORIAL QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M
 
BEAT THE BEAST – Slow to begin. When questioned, jockey A. Sewell explained that it was always his intention to allow the horse to settle in a rearward position as instructed and he would have preferred to have improved into the race prior to the home turn, however as runners ahead of him were racing wide on the track, he  elected to wait until the home straight to allow the horse to shift wider in an attempt to finish the race off. He added that he was satisfied with the horse’s finishing performance and felt that it may be better suited on a bigger track.
 
ANOTHER DABL DOYA – Had to be steadied passing the 700m when tightened for room to the inside of SHE’S UP BEAT, which shifted in slightly.
 
GURAN – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
SATURN OPS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
DRUMADOIR – After beginning awkwardly and being caught wide shortly after the start the horse was allowed to press forward to obtain a position outside the lead passing the 700m.
 
CLASSY JANA – Began awkwardly. Forced wider on the track passing the 400m when SHE’S UP BEAT shifted out to improve. V. Johnston reported that her mount felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed some slight muscle soreness. Trainer B. Dais advised that it may be his intention to send the filly for a spell.
 
Race 5: BOOM RACING THOROUGHBREDS CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed when the off fore plate on LADY VIDIA had to be refitted prior to loading.
 
CORNFORTH – Slow to begin.
 
STELLAR POWER – Bumped by another after passing the 200m.
 
BABY MERLIN – Laid in after passing the 200m and made contact with STELLAR POWER.
 
ACE STRYKER – Began awkwardly and threw its head up shortly after. Bled from both nostrils. The horse will now be ineligible to race for three months, and prior to racing again must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
 
ANGELS LOVE – Slow to begin. Laid out approaching the 600m and became awkwardly placed at the heels of KENTUCKIES BEST.
 
Race 6: BEAUDESERT CUP OPEN H'CAP – 1400M
 
ALLKNIGHT SAINT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
CASH SPINNER – Forced wider on the track approaching the 400m when DISTROYIA shifted out to improve.
 
ANNE BONNY – Had to be checked approaching the 300m when tightened for room by DUTCH TREAT, which shifted out when not fully clear. M. Gray, the rider of DUTCH TREAT, was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
 
CHAMPAGNE ROCK – Had to be steadied approaching the 600m when cramped for racing room to the inside of DISTROYIA, which shifted in marginally. V. Johnston, the rider of DISTROYIA, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
Race 7: WASHPOOL LODGE BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 1100M
 
Stewards permitted apprentice T. Williams to claim only 1kg of her 1.5kg allowance on ALL OUR WIVES.
 
CLOSE ENOUGH – Bumped passing the 900m. Made the first turn at the 700m awkwardly and shifted out and then raced three wide without cover for the remainder of the event.
 
BEVEILE – Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition on its nearside. Improved on to the heels of CAN HE RAP passing the 800m and had to be checked.
 
WIG WAM BAM – Held up from the 400m to the 250m.
 
ALL OUR WIVES – Blundered on jumping.
