QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT AQUIS BEAUDESERT - THURSDAY 22 AUGUST 2019 WEATHER – FINETRACK RATING – GOOD 3RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C. Stokes Race 1: TAB QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1300m SPIRIT RICH – Slow to begin. Near the 50m had to be steadied away from the heels of SISTER KATHLEEN (R. Palmer) which shifted out under pressure. Jockey R. Palmer was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future. BELLINI BELLE – When being restrained in the early stages to obtain cover, over-raced for a considerable distance. Race 2: TAB C,G&E CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1200m DARTH VADER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. NONCHALANTE - Began awkwardly and lost ground. JACK OF SPADES – Near the 1000m had to be steadied when over-racing and after being bumped by TORQUATO TASSO which shifted in whilst over-racing. TORQUATO TASSO – Over-raced in the early stages and was obliged to race 3 wide without cover until improving forward and obtaining the lead near the 600m. NOWISEVERYTHING – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. MIGHTY MOOSE – Jockey J. Taylor dropped his whip near the 100m. Race 3: TAB MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1650m As Jockey J. Woodhouse was indisposed through illness, he was replaced on BON HENRY by Jockey H. Poland. METRICAL – Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Jockey R. Plumb reported to Stewards that his mount was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn which may have been a result of the gelding shying away from the barriers that were placed on the inside training track. HARD ENOUGH – Slow to begin. ELECTRIC ANNA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. IDIDITMYWAY – Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 800m. BON HENRY – Cast its off hind plate in running. Race 4: TAB MAIDEN PLATE – 1050mTAKEMEOUTBACK – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped EEYORE. BEAUETA – Slow to begin. Near the 400m was hampered and forced out abruptly. SEEYARON – Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped SOGERI. SOGERI – Near the 900m was bumped heavily by SEEYARON which shifted in and away from EEYORE which shifted in. DISCIPLINE – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of event. SHERPA JACK – Near the 400m had to be checked to avoid the heels of SGURR MOR and shifted out abruptly. Jockey A. Spinks reported at scale that his mount raced greenly throughout the event. SGURR MOR – Checked near the 400m when attempting a narrow run to the inside of TAKEMEOUTBACK which shifted in slightly. Stewards advised both Jockey A. Chau (TAKEMEOUTBACK) and App. M. Castle (SGURR MOR) to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Race 5: TAB Class 4 Plate – 1400m WAINUI GOLD was a late scratching at 12.45 pm acting on veterinary advice. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the geldings next race start. POWER FROM WITHIN – Slow to begin. COURT RULES – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn. OUR BOY BEN – Held up for a short distance in the early stages of the home straight. ARGIE BARGIE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a laceration to the left hind cannon. HUMILITY – Cast its near hind plate in running. Race 6: TAB Class 2 Handicap – 1650m RECITAL – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that under the provisions of AR79(4) the gelding would incur a 3 month ban from racing and be required to complete a 1000m gallop prior to racing again. PAT KASH – Restrained in the early stages to obtain a position with cover. Near the 1400m had to be checked to avoid the heels of SHEEZINAJAM and then continued to over-race for a short distance thereafter. Near the 400m was forced wider by SHEEZINAJAM which shifted out to improve. SHEEZINAJAM – Near the 1400m awkwardly placed at the heels of CHAKEELA and as a result was forced in whilst being checked. MAGESTICAL MAIDEN – Checked near the 1400m, clipped heels and blundered. As a result, shifted wider on the track and raced 3 wide without cover for the remainder of the event. App. N. Masuda (CHAKEELA) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) in that passing the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SHEEZINAJAM resulting in that horse being awkwardly placed at heels and being forced in resulting in MAGESTICAL MAIDEN having to be severely checked and clipped the heels of SHEEZINAJAM and blundered. App. Masudas licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 26.08.19 and expire midnight 05.09.19. In determining penalty Stewards considered App. Masudas good recent riding record. Race 7: TAB F&M Class 1 Handicap – 1200m SHES UP BEAT– Began awkwardly and lost ground. KATARINA – Slow into stride. TEJAAN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. TOUJOURS LAMOUR – Raced 3 wide without cover. TIZ – Raced 4 wide without cover. FANTASAY – Raced 3 wide throughout. LASHONI – Leaving the 200m was disappointed for a run between TOUJOURS LAMOUR and FANTASAY which shifted in.
