ChallenStarter – T Woodham GENERAL Andrew Spinks was unable ride BIG WIG in race 1, due to transportation difficulties and was replaced as per the race day summary. Shannon Doyle (medical reasons), Allan Chau (medical reasons) and Ryan Wiggins (personal reasons) were not riding at the meeting today and were replaced as per the race day summary. Race 1: BEAUDESERT DERBY DAY BOOK NOW – Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap 1100 Metres MISHANI FORTUNE – Slow to begin. Apprentice S. Tomlinson was fined $100 for failing to claim his full allowance pursuant to AR143(14)(a). WORLD CHARMER – Slow into stride. SARAVENGER – Raced three-wide with cover for the majority of the race. MARYLEE – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Shifted wider rounding the home turn. PRINCESS CLEOPATRA - Raced three-wide with cover throughout. Rider J. Murphy reported that the mare felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer S. Barker advised he would give consideration to spelling the mare. SUBAYAI – Near the 400m raced in restricted room to the inside of PRINCESS CLEOPATRA for a short distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the mare’s near fore leg. Race 2: TAB – Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap 1100 Metres Due to THE MOA FACTOR sustaining an injury en-route to the racecourse, was declared a late scratching at 9:34am. Trainer S. Cole was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Correct weight was delayed to allow rider App. M. Savva and trainer P. Kalinowski of the second place getter GEM SETTER, to review the photo finish for first and second. After reviewing the photo, both rider and trainer were satisfied with the judge’s placings and correct weight was declared. MAHOE GOLD – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. MISS CHARLOTTE – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground. FALVEY’S SPIRIT – Raced keenly in the early stages of the race. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. Race 3: DUBIOUS @ AQUIS IN 2020 – Benchmark 58 Handicap 2450 Metres SCHWARZY – Trainer K. Jones advised the Stewards that the gelding would be ridden more forward than at its most recent race starts. Slow to begin and settled further back than anticipated. POOLENZO – Slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the early stages of the race. Shifted in near the 2000m, making heavy contact with the running rail. LAMMA HILTON – Slow to begin. Approaching the 1500m commenced to over race and was allowed to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 1200m. CHIEF COMMAND – Shifted wider leaving the 800m to improve. Laid in under pressure and brushed POWERS LOOKOUT over the concluding stages. ASTRAL KNIGHT – Overraced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 4: PIERATA @ AQUIS IN 2020 – Class 4 Plate 1200 Metres Correct weight was delayed so that rider A. Allen and trainer K. Young for the fourth place getter JAYDEE INDY, could review the patrol footage to ascertain whether there were grounds for an objection against the 2nd placegetter THE IRONS. After reviewing the footage, both rider and trainer advised they did not wish to proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared. COMMISSIONER – Raced keenly in the early stages. Rider J. Woodhouse reported that the gelding did not feel comfortable throughout. A post-race veterinary examination did not identify any abnormalities. JAYDEE INDY – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m, commenced to overrace whilst being restrained and improved onto the heels of RAMTASTIC and shifted out, making contact with SOJOURNIST. Approaching the 400m raced in restricted and had to be steadied when THE IRONS shifted in . App. E. MacPherson(THE IRONS) was reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear. NORTHERN RIVER – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages of the race, making contact with JAYDEE INDY. SOJOURNIST – Near the 1000m was bumped by JAYDEE INDY which shifted out to avoid the heels of another runner. Approached the 50m was bumped on the hindquarters by JAYDEE INDY which was taken in by NORTHERN RIVER. Race 5: TAB MAKE A DATE WITH PLAY – Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap 1100 Metres ICE ELITE – Began awkwardly and lost ground LEAVE ME ALONG – Tightened shortly after the start and lost ground MADCALL – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping GOOD TUKKA then shifted out abruptly and tightened LEAVE ME ALONG. Rider A. Spinks lost the use of his whip near the 200m. GOOD TUKKA – Slow to begin and bumped by MADCALL. Commenced to overrace for some distance and improved onto the heels of KATANAROCK near the 700m and had to be steadied when KATANAROCK shifted in abruptly. KATANAROCK – Became fractious and lunged forwarding in the barriers prior to the started being effected. Near the 1000m raced in restricted room to the inside of JAY BEE which shifted in momentarily. A post-race veterinary examination of KATANAROCK revealed the presence of blood in the gelding’s near side nostril. In the opinion of Stewards, such bleeding was attributable to external trauma. ALOCTANE – On pulling up dislodged rider J Murphy and was recaptured a short time after. Race 6: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY – Class 1 Handicap 1650 Metres The start of the race was delayed when ROYAL SHEEN had shifted a plate enroute to the barriers and was attempted to be reshod. Underwent a veterinary examination which revealed the gelding had sustained and injury to its off fore hoof and was declared a late scratching at 3:06pm by order of the Stewards. All best placed on ROYAL SHEEN to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply for successful bets placed prior to 3:06pm: 30 cents in the win for 1st (BOOMI’S BUDDY)21 cents in the place for 1st (BOOMI’S BUDDY)26 cents in the place for 2nd (PARLOUR)19 cents in the place for 3rd (SECRET AGENT MAN) The start was further delayed when sprinklers on the inside of the track were activated for a short period which had no bearing on the racing surface. RIVER OF LOVE – Trainer S. Cole reported to Stewards prior to racing that the mare en-route to the racecourse had been kicked on the float, subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed minor abrasions to the mare’s hind legs and was passed fit to race. Raced wide in the early stages of the race. BLACKMAILER – Became fractious in the enclosure. Slow to begin BOOMI’S BUDDY – Began awkwardly HOLLYWOOD AL – Slow to begin. SECRET AGENT MAN – Raced wide in the early stages of the race. NO MORE BIDS – Race three-wide in the early and middle stages of the race before obtaining a position trailing the leader approaching the 1100m. STYK AT IT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 7: TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION – Colts, Geldings and Entires Benchmark 55 Handicap 1100 Metres TOTTEN – Fractious in the barriers. EMOTIVE MOUNTAIN – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Near the 700m when over racing improved onto the heels of ENTITLEMENT and had to be steadied. NAKANAI – Overraced in the middle stages of the race. ENTITLEMENT – Raced three-wide with cover throughout the race. INTIMIDATING – Raced three-wide with cover throughout the race. MISHANI COURAGE – Raced three-wide without cover throughout the race. Race 8: GCTC BEAUDESERT DERBY DAY 31 OCTOBER 2020 – Fillies and Mares Benchmark 55 Handicap 1100 Metres NO DOUBT A LADY – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. MISS DAIQUIRI – Began awkwardly shifting out tightening NO DOUBT A LADY. NYMERIA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. MIGHTY MOSHE – Steadied when improved onto the heels of RUN PAM RUN near the 600m and raced greenly for the remainder of the event. BEACH CLUB – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. MILLION – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. HEY DOLL – Tightened shortly after the start and lost ground Race 9: BEAUDESERTRACECLUB.COM – Ratings Band 0 - 55 Handicap 1400 Metres TYCOON PLAYER – Worked strongly during its preliminary and underwent a pre-race veterinary examinationprior to the start and was cleared to race. REDZEB – Slow to begin. TIZ – Slow to begin MONT MONT – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running approaching the 250m. DULCIE TIE – Raced keenly in the early stages. ENCHANTED REIGN – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 200m was checked to avoid heels. Rider L. Abbott (MONT MONT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 200m she directed her mount MONT MONT out whilst under riding, when insufficiently clear of ENCHANTED REIGN which had to be checked to avoid heels. Rider L. Abbott had her licence to ride in races suspended for a period of eight (8) days to commence at midnight on 5 October 2020 and to expire at midnight on 13 October 2020.
