WatsonGENERALDue to concerns with a section of the track between the 600 metres and the 250 metres, a delegation of riders, along with the Stewards, inspected the track and deemed it satisfactory to race on. RACE 1: PRYDE’S EASIFEED THREE MAIDEN PLATE 1650 METRESLODI – Underwent a veterinarian examination prior to the commencement of the race and was passed suitable to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from tenderness on flexion. Trainer M. Palmer was advised he would be required to obtain a Veterinary Clearance prior to the filly being permitted to trial or race again. WINDUPGIRL – Over raced in the early and middle stages. MOONSHINER – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced ungenerously rounding the home turn and in the home straight. GONZO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.REBEL CAUSE – Shifted out momentarily when being steadied near the 1200 metres. Lost its off hind plate during running. BULLA BULLA – Hung out rounding the home turn. RACE 2: PRYDE’S EASIFEED RACING CUBE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100 METRESSILKAY – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected. Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout. KATANAROCK – Slow to begin. Shifted out shortly after the start bumping DREAM ENTITY. MANADO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout. Shifted in away from heels near the 100 metres. SOMNIA – Leaving the 700 metres was steadied when crowded for room by MANADO, which shifted in. DREAM ENTITY – Bumped shortly after the start by KATANAROCK. Shifted in near the 150 metres having to be restrained. AWESOME POWER – Laid in under pressure near the 100 metres having to be corrected. MOUNT PADRAO – Raced greenly throughout. RACE 3: PRYDE’S EASIFEED BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 2450 METRESFURY OF THE STORM – Trainer G. Richardson advised Stewards it was the intention to ride the gelding more forward. Ridden accordingly and led. A post-race veterinary examination identified a slower than normal post-race recovery and a throat abnormality. Trainer G. Richardson was advised he would be required to obtain a Veterinary Clearance including the results of the endoscopic examination prior to the gelding being permitted to trial or race again. HE’S THE DEEL – Shifted in shortly after the start, crowding RICHEST. RICHEST – Crowded for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied.PRINCELY SUM – Over raced in the early and middle stages. When over racing, was checked to avoid the heels of SECRET AGENT MAN when the pace steadied leaving the 1800 metres and momentarily shifted wider. ASTRAL KNIGHT – Over raced in the early stages. Was steadied when the pace steadied at the 1800 metres. Near the 600 metres improved onto the heels of SIR HUSSON which shifted out. SECRET AGENT MAN – Leaving the 1800 metres was awkwardly placed on the heels of FURY OF THE STORM and momentarily shifted wider. Over raced in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the gelding’s near hind leg and further identified the gelding to be lame in its near hind leg. Trainer. T. Cotsiopoulos was advised she would be required to obtain a Veterinary Clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to trial or race again. JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE – Over raced in the middle stages.STRIKE SIKA – Laid in from the 400 metres to rounding the home turn and raced in restricted room for a short period before obtaining clear running. RACE 4: PRYDE’S EASIFEED CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1650 METRESCAREERING AWAY – Began awkwardly. RIGHTEOUSNESS – Shifted in passing the winning post on the first occasion, hampering LWAZI. Raced wide in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. LWAZI – Momentarily steadied passing the winning post on the first occasion to avoid the heels of RIGHTEOUSNESS, which shifted in. STRYKING EMERALD – Raced wide in the early stages. RACE 5: PRYDE’S EASIFEED EASIOIL CLASS 1 PLATE 1650 METRESBYRON BUOY – The start of the race was delayed when the gelding’s bridle needed to be readjusted after being loaded. Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. Overraced in the early stages. Made the crossing awkwardly near the 1200 metres. BLACKBOOTS – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. Rider R. Maloney reported the mare settled further back than anticipated after beginning awkwardly however the mare did not finish the event off as expected. Jockey R. Maloney further added that the mare may benefit from the addition of blinkers. Trainer D. Vandyke stated that he was not disappointed with today’s performance after settling further back than anticipated and would consider the addition of blinkers. LIVE MUSIC – Slow to begin. MANHATTANITE – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. FINANCIAL – Raced wide in the early stages. GRENADIERS – Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 400 metres, put in an awkward stride and shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Lost its near fore plate during running. TIZ – Raced wide in the early stages. Bumped with MULTMILLY near the 150 metres. MULTIMILLY – Near the 400 metres, was steadied when momentarily tightened by TIZ, which shifted in. Apprentice J. J. Lloyd, rider of TIZ, was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground. PYTHIA – Rider B. Thompson advised that after beginning well, the mare settled further forward than anticipated. WILLY BE LUCKY – Lost its near hind plate in running. RACE 6: PRYDE’S EASIFEED EASILYTE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200 METRESNAKANAI – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to start. Rider S. Galloway reported the was not comfortable in today’s shifting track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. ROCKY NUGGET – Apprentice J. J. Lloyd was harmlessly dislodged enroute to the barriers, Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Blundered on jumping. Taken inwards at the 1100 metres and raced in restricted room for a short distance. SIR MAGIC – Slow to begin. SMARTCELLI – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. PRINNY’S SUCCESS – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running between the 400 metres and the 200 metres. MASPOETA – Was steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of ROCKY NUGGET, which was taken in by ANNABETH at the 1100 metres. Apprentice G. Cartwright, rider of ANNABETH, was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground. Disappointed for a run near the 50 metres between ANNABETH and ROCKY NUGGET, which shifted in. RACE 7: PRYDE’S EASIFEED EASIPERFORMANCE FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 METRESYAWKYAWK – Slow to begin. LOVESPEED GIRL – Slow to begin. PAT’S GIRL – Slow to begin. WANTED MISS – Slow to begin. Put in an awkward stride near the 300 metres.ROSIE ROSE – Raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the race. CLASSIC PEARL – Near the 250 metres, when giving ground had to be steadied when crowded between DULCIE TIE and MISS DAIQUIRI, which both shifted ground. BEACH CLUB – Rider M. Hellyer reported that it was not his intention to lead today however after beginning well and from the wide barrier settled in the lead. Race 8: PRYDE’S EASIFEED BIOMARE COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 METRESTYRIAN – Slow to begin. GALVARINO – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. VASSA BLUE – Shifted out shortly after the start taking BURNING SUCCESS outwards and becoming awkward on the heels of FAST THINKER. BURNING SUCCESS – Forced outwards shortly after the start. Over raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. BANJA LUKA – Raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the race. Raced ungenerously when placed under pressure in the home straight. MIGHTY MOOSE – Lost its near fore plate during running. REPULSE – Lost its off fore plate during running. IAMPAIDFOR – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer T.
