GENERAL
Trainer B Robinson was fined $200 for the late declaration of the rider on BOBBY AXELROD under LR67.
 
Race 1: RAY WHITE RURAL BEAUDESERT BM60 HCP – 1200M
 
FIGHTING COMMANDO – Slow to begin. Made the turn near the 700m awkwardly, hung out and raced wide from this point on.
 
TWERK – Eased near the 300m when BOBBY AXELROD shifted in marginally before being straightened.
 
SUPER BAZOOKA – Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: HINTERLAND TOYOTA BEAUDESERT QTIS 2YO MDN PLT – 1200M
 
The start was delayed approximately two minutes when SIR GALIANT became fractious in the barriers and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently cleared to start. Rider M Du Plessis was examined by on course QAS officers and cleared to fulfill his engagements.
 
ALBERT'S IN CHARGE – Raced greenly in the home straight and after passing the 100m, laid in before being straightened by its rider.
 
BUDDHA – Near the 300m checked when tightened to the inside of VALAMOUR, which when tiring shifted in and away from MISHANI OPERATOR which was improving to its outside.
 
CHOSEN TO SIZZLE - Slow to begin. Near the 700m improved onto the heels of BUDDHA before shifting out and clipping the heels of SIR GALIANT before blundering and almost dislodging its rider.
 
MISHANI OPERATOR – Raced wide throughout.
 
SIR GALIANT – Overraced and raced greenly through the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind and a small abrasion to the nose. Trainer D Forster reported that SIR GALIANT would now be spelled.
 
THE LOVE OF MARY – Inconvenienced near the 700m and carried wider.
 
VALAMOUR – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 3: TOTAL FIRST HOME SOLUTIONS MDN PLT – 1100M
 
BARONET – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MADCALL – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
MIDNIGHT DRUMMER – Slow to begin.
 
MOMEMORY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting the gates en route to the barriers and cleared to start. Slow to begin. Blundered shortly after the start.
 
GRAND – Rider M Du Plessis reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
JETSET ANNIE – Slow to begin. Rider J Murphy reported that his mount raced greenly throughout and hung out from the 600m. Trainer D Murphy was advised that a warning would be placed on JETSET ANNIE.
 
SEIZETHEMOMENT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TEVERINA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 4: SCENIC REALTY QTIS 3YO MDN PLT - 1400M
 
The start of the race was delayed approximately 3 minutes when SEA PALLING refused to the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 2.21pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SEA PALLING be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
14c in the dollar for all win bets - #9 (MARTO)
11c in the dollar for all place bets - #9 (MARTO)
19c in the dollar for all place bets - #11 (SIENNA’S AWARD)
19c in the dollar for all place bets – #1 (CLAIRVUE JET)
20c in the dollar for all place bets - #10 (MISHANI WHISPER)
 
Trainer B Lockwood was advised that SEA PALLING would have to officially trial prior to its next start.
 
CLAIRVUE JET – Held up rounding the home turn and the early part of the straight. Rider A Allen reported that his mount was inclined to lay in and dipped over the concluding stages and as a result, he was unable to ride his mount out to the finish.
 
ASLLANI – Inconvenienced at the start between SIENNA’S AWARD and FESSUP.
 
GIVEITALLALI – Trailed the field throughout. Trainer S Cole was advised that the filly must prove its competitiveness in an official trial prior to its next start.
 
GOLD JET – Performed below market expectations. Apprentice M Kennedy reported that the filly showed unexpected gate speed and as a result settled further forward from the wide barrier. Apprentice Kennedy further added that when she placed GOLD JET under pressure, the filly failed to respond and she elected not to place her mount under further pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
 
Race 5: LEAN MEAN MACHINE @ AQUIS MDN HCP – 1650M
 
SHOTGUN BOBBY – Tactics and performance queried. Rider M Cahill reported that the gelding was slow to begin and settled back further than anticipated. He further added that he attempted to ride for luck from the 600m which did not eventuate until entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MAGIC BOOM – Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader at the 1000m.
 
FIORENTE STAR – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
FROM THE GONG – Raced wide throughout. When questioned as to whether there was an opportunity to obtain a position with cover behind EIGHTYTHREE BRICKS passing the 1400m, rider G Walters stated that he momentarily gained cover but was mindful that the mare was one paced and was better suited with an uninterrupted run and as such, he permitted his mount to shift back out into a three wide position passing the 1000m.
 
IDIDITMYWAY – Stood flat footed (3L).
 
Race 6: BEAUDESERT RSL DIGGERS CUP C2 HCP – 1650M
 
HE'S WOW CLASS – Performed below market expectations. Rider N Callow reported that his mount travelled well throughout, however was one paced and failed to respond to his riding. He further added that the gelding which was first up from a spell, would derive benefit from today’s run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ROUND OF APPLAUSE – Raced wide in the early stages. Rider B Ainsworth reported that her mount laid in throughout the event.
 
MUFASTA – Slow to muster speed. Trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the presence of blood in one nostril. Trainer C McCann was advised that MUFASTA must gallop over 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to racing or trialling again. Trainer C McCann reported that MUFASTA would now be spelled and his immediate racing future would be considered.
 
Race 7: DUBIOUS @ AQUIS C3 HCP – 1100M
 
REST OF THE WORLD – Slow to begin and after being ridden along in the early stages began to overrace and had to be steadied near the 900m after improving onto heels. Performed below market expectations. Rider N Callow could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.
 
APPLECROSS – Raced wide throughout.
 
POETIC CHOICE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 150m and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
DANCES WITH TIME – Jumped awkwardly.
 
BIG WIG – Raced wide without cover throughout.
