Race 1: TOP ECHELON QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1100 metres
 
GREY DEFENCE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ANGEL LIKE – Bumped on jumping.
 
GOLD TRICKLE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
SWANIC BOOM – Began awkwardly bumping ANGEL LIKE.
 
Race 2: RON BERRY CONCRETE Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
BURN THE BOATS – Slow to begin.
 
EIGHTYTHREE BRICKS – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Near the 600m was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed at the heels of HIGH DE LUNE which shifted out.
 
GREYT INTENTIONS – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TIGER LA JOY – From the 1200m to a point near the 1000m bumped on a number of occasions with HIGH DE LUNE which commenced to over-raced whilst being restrained. Hung out from the 700m until a point entering the home straight. Rider A Allen was reminded of his obligations when using his whip when out of contention.
 
BULLGARI – Rider M Hellyer reported the gelding was inclined to lay in in the early stages. Raced three wide without cover
 
AVESUM PIXIE DUST – Tightened between runners on jumping.
 
HIGH DE LUNE – Near the 1200m commenced to over-race whilst being restrained for some distance. Near the 1100m buffered between runners when AVESUM PIXIE DUST shifted in and away from BULLGARI which shifted in whilst hanging out. Approaching the 800m whilst continuing  to over-racing was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of AVESUM PIXIE DUST. Improved onto heels and shifted wider at the 600m.
 
SISKIN – Slow to begin. Trainer D March was issued a $100 fine under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
STYK AT IT – Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 1300m steadied when placed in restricted room.
 
Race 3: BUSHFIRE SURVIVAL PLAN Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
CAPTAIN RIDDLE – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
EL RANCHOS (NZ) – Near the 900m steadied when the pace slackened.
 
AWARD KNIGHT – Raced wide in the early stages, was permitted to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 600m. Raced greenly in the home straight and then shifted out abruptly near the 50m.
 
SIMPLES – Near the 900m steadied when improved onto the heels of RELENTLESS MISS.
 
RELENTLESS MISS – Near the 900m steadied when the pace slackened. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
STELLA ARDENS – Rider G Goomany reported the mare raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4: GETTING DIRTY EXCAVATIONS Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Plate 1100 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed when the 3rd placegetter, Jockey T Brooker WHO SHOT MAGGIE upon reviewing patrol films lodged an objection against DEEP STATE (App M Kennedy) being declared the winner, alleging interference from the 150m. After considering all evidence and whilst noting that over the final 100m DEEP STATE was inclined to lay in resulting in tightening to WHO SHOT MAGGIE, Stewards could not be satisfied that the extent of the interference to WHO SHOT MAGGIE within the final 50m was greater than the ¾ margin separating both runners at the finish, therefore the protest was dismissed and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.
 
REPLICATION – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the 1st time. Stewards advised Trainer G Heinrich the gelding would incur a 3 month ban from racing and then will be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of Stewards prior to racing or trailing again.
 
PERSIAN KING – Raced three wide throughout. Rider M Savva reported that her mount didn’t feel comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings
 
ZEELUCK – Approaching the 100m was inconvenienced when raced in restricted room when between WHO SHOT MAGGIE and DEEP STATE shifted in
 
Race 5: EVERGREEN POWER SEEDING Fillies and Mares Class 2 Plate 1100 metres
 
FANTASAY – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
MOCKING – Raced three wide without cover throughout
 
PURE INDULGENCE – Began awkwardly bumping REDENZO GAL. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Approaching the finishing line steadied when awkwardly placed the heels of SISTER KATHLEEN which laid in under pressure.
 
SECONDOFMAY – Trainer D March was issued a $100 fine under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
REDENZO GAL – Tightened between runners on jumping and lost ground.
 
LADY SHANGHAI – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 6: RURAL FIRE SERVICE Class 5 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FUJI FLYER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
BEAU ARROW – Near the 400m improved onto the heels of DERULO and shifted wider.
 
DERULO – Approaching the 900m was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of EXACTAMENTE. Inconvenienced rounding the home turn when FUJI FLYER shifted out to improve. Performed below market expectation rider M Hellyer could offer no tangible explanation for the geldings disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings.
 
GINGER ROCK – Slow to begin. Forced wider near the 400m when BEAU ARROW shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
TOUJOURS L'AMOUR – Buffered between runners near the 200m.
 
Race 7: BEAUDESERT HIBERNIAN CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1650 metres
 
ACCESSORY – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
ALL JEED UP – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
GET ON BOARD – Rider Guthmann-Chester reported that after only beginning moderately from a wide barrier he had elected to restrain to a position closer to the fence which was further back than he had anticipated. Near the 600m shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
PRINCE CAVALLO – Fractious in the barriers.
 
PLACE ME RIGHT – Bumped on jumping.
 
DAY TO FAVOUR – Began awkwardly and bumped with PLACE ME RIGHT. Near the 400m was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of ARISE MY SON.
 
PUNCTUALITY – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SNIPERESS – Apprentice Z Lloyd dropped his whip near the 100m.
 
CELTIC TIGER (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
Race 8: LANDSBOROUGH HOTEL QTIS 3-Y-O BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed when the 2nd placegetter, Jockey T Wolfgram (JUDDER) upon reviewing patrol films lodged an objection against BATTLE THROUGH (App Z Lloyd) being declared the winner, alleging interference leaving the 200m. After considering all evidence, it was established that near the 200m BATTLE THROUGH had shifted out under pressure resulting in JUDDER which was laying in at the same point was inconvenienced momentarily when awkwardly placed at heels, therefore Stewards could not be satisfied that the extent of the interference to JUDDER was greater than the margin separating both runners at the finish, they dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
 
JUDDER – Leaving the 200m whilst laying in was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed at the heels of BATTLE THROUGH which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice Z Lloyd was reminded of his obligations when allowing his mounts to shift ground.
 
JABALI GOLD –Raced wide with cover throughout.Performed below market expectation, rider C Whitely could offer no tangible explanation to the disappointing performance other to say the gelding may not appreciate today’s track conditions. Trainer C Munce undertook to report to Stewards anything that may become apparent which may have had an effect on the horse’s performance in the days subsequent to the event.
 
BAUHINIA BEANS – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Near the 400m steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of ROTHSHADOW which shifted in. Near the 200m improved onto the heels of MISHANI APPEAL which shifted in.
 
CHEMICAL EX – Became fractious in the barriers.
 
PATTY'S FORTUNE – Raced wide with cover throughout. Performed below market expectation. Rider C Meehan could offer no tangible explanation for the disappointing performance of the filly. Trainer L Ross stated in his opinion the filly worked hard from the wide barrier early and may not have appreciated today’s track conditions. Mr Ross undertook to report to Stewards anything that may become apparent which may have had an effect on the horse’s performance in the days subsequent to the event.
 
ROTHSHADOW – Bumped on jumping.
 
JABALIC – Began awkwardly.
 
EXPRESSO LOVE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Apprentice I Teh was reprimanded for use of the whip 7 times prior to the 100m, which is 2 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
 
NICHOLAS ADAM – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
Race 9: BUCK'S BAKERY Class 1 Handicap 1300 metres
 
ALATAR – Tightened between runners on jumping.
 
MASTER RED – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
LITTLE NATURAL – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
LONADO – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAHSTAR – Slow to begin and shortly after was tightened for room between rummers and lost ground.
 
RUNAMUK – Tightened between runners on jumping. Near the 400m raced in restricted room to the inside of LONADO which shifted in momentarily.
 
XUANNU – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Near the 200m disappointed for a run.
 
WHISTLIN' ARROW – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
