QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT AQUIS BEAUDESERT CLUB BEAUDESERT – TUESDAY 17TH AUGUST 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SOFT 5 RAIL – TRUEPENETROMETER – 4.74 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T North Stewards – R Hitchener, R Hanson, P KennedyClerk of Scales – M WinwoodJudge – S AndersonVeterinarian –Dr. S FlynnSwab Attendants –A. ChallenStarter – K Watson GENERAL Jockey M Hellyer was fined $400 for having in his possession a mobile phone in the jockey’s room. Race 1:LEAN MACHINE @ AQUIS Maiden Plate 1400 metres FLECKERL- Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 1:18pm after taking charge of its rider during the preliminary and galloping two circuits of the track. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on FLICKERL be refunded with the following deductions to apply- 1st- 4 cents the win, 3 cents the place2nd- 5 cents the place3rd- 7 cents the place Trainer R Davidson was advised that a warning would be issued against the mare’s pre-race behaviour. CRAIGLEA WISH- Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Passing the 500m whilst racing greenly, made contact with the running rail on a number of occasions and lost ground. Jockey H Richardson reported her mount raced greenly throughout. HAIL TO THE CHIEF- Slipped behind on jumping. Near the 600m improved onto heels and was steadied. A short distance later was steadied when awkwardly placed at heels. ROCK EASY- Slow to begin losing considerable ground. SIR EX BE- Performed below market expectations. Jockey Fradd reported that the gelding travelled only fairly during the event and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. LOUVRE LIL- Rounding the home turn was steadied to avoid the heels of SARAVENGER (B Ainsworth) which shifted out to secure clear running when not completely clear. Jockey B Ainsworth was advised to exercise more care. LUNAFREYA- Bumped by another runner near the 200m. SIENNA'S AWARD- Over raced in early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. ROMAN HUSSLER- Tightened for room at the start. Over raced and raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained in the middle stages. CAPITAL EYES- Tightened for room at the start. SARAVENGER- Bumped by another runner near the 200m. Race 2:TAB Class 2 Plate 1650 metres STRYKING EMERALD- Began awkwardly. ALLUDERE- After passing the winning post on the first occasion was steadied when placed in restricted room when racing to the inside of WAIKATO which laid in after being taken in slightly by BADGE OF GAMNESS which shifted in marginally. Jockey C Meehan’s saddle shifted to the off side in the home straight placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder. WAIKATO- Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained during the early and middle stages. Performed below market expectations. J Murphy reported that the gelding travelled only fairly during the event and when placed under pressure near the 600m failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. RIGHTEOUSNESS- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced keenly during the middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. THE GOOD THE BAD (NZ)- Tightened for room at the start. Placed in restricted room and was unable to be fully tested between the 200m and 100m. SLIGHTLY SHADY- Bled both nostrils during the event. Trainer K Brewster was advised that as this was the first occasion on which the mare had bled, it would now be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and further must gallop 1000m in the presence of Stewards prior to next racing. Race 3:DERBY DAY OCTOBER 30TH Class 2 Handicap 2450 metres BARITONE (IRE)- Raced keenly in the middle stages. Forced wider on the track near the 1100m and as a result raced 3 wide without cover from this point. Near the 200m was bumped by another runner. SKAGERAK (NZ)- Near the 200m bumped by another runner. Had difficulty securing clear running over the concluding stages. DECOR DEELS- Slow to begin. Disappointed for clear running passing the 200m before shifting inwards to secure clear running. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages when awkwardly placed at heels. THE HOUSEMAN- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. ASTRAL KNIGHT- Slow to begin. BRYBECK- Slow to begin. Forced wider by another runner passing the 600m. Both Trainer N Hocking and App. M Kennedy expressing disappointment with the performance of the gelding and could offer no tangible explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. TYCOON PLAYER- Over raced during the early and middle stages of the event, proving difficult to restrain and as a consequence established a considerable lead during the early and middle stages. Race 4:TAB Fillies and Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1100 metres BETTER RUSH- Near the 550m steadied to avoid the heels of MISS CRUISY (H Richardson) which shifted in when not completely clear. H Richardson was severely reprimanded. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. PETRALIA- Began awkwardly. DRAGON PURSUIT- Near the 700m steadied to avoid the heel of MISS CRUISY (H Richardson) which shifted in when not completely clear. H Richardson was advised to exercise more care. LEMON DUCHESS- Slow to begin. Laid out for the majority. ROZEIRA- Raced wide throughout. MISS CRUISEY- After being caught wide was ridden aggressively in the early stages to obtain the leading position near the 600m. Race 5: DUBIOUS @ AQUIS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1400 metres CROWN WAR- Due to the Covid restrictions, Jockey A Chau was given permission to ride the mare half a kilogram overweight. TEST OF WAR- Began awkwardly. KAVALMO (NZ)- Threw its head in the air shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Performed below market expectations. Jockey G Walters reported that the gelding travelled reasonably during the event however failed to quicken when placed under pressure and failed to run on in the home straight. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. LINCOLN FURY- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced three wide without cover throughout. ATOMIC BOMB- Hampered at the start. CELTIC TIGER (NZ)- Raced four wide without cover throughout. SISTINE AVENUE- Raced ungenerously in the early stages. KIRRO- Performed below market expectations. Jockey J Murphy reported that the gelding travelled only fairly when racing in a rearward position during the event and when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. Trainer J Hubbard was reprimanded for failing to ensure the gelding remained on course for a minimum of thirty minutes following its event. As such post- race Veterinary examination was unable to be conducted. Race 6:AQUIS FARM Colts, Geldings & Entires RATINGS BAND 0 - 58Handicap 1100 metres SIR PICCOLO- Slow to begin. FIRE IN THE HOLE- Steadied from heels near the 500m. GRAND CHALLENGE- Raced wide during the early and middle stages. MISHANI CONMAN- Began awkwardly. KATANAROCK- Hampered at the start and lost ground. Raced ungenerously near the 500m and became unbalanced. CONQUER MEE Thomas- Began awkwardly. Near the 900m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of FIRE IN THE HOLE which shifted when not clear. B Stewart was severely reprimanded. Passing the 200m was steadied when placed in restricted room when FIRE IN THE HOLE shifted out and SIR PICCOLO shifted in. OUTBACK STORM- Jumped in the air at the start. OUR BOY TRAV- Laid out from the 400m proving difficult to ride out in the home straight. Race 7:TAB Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres BROKEN HERO- Jockey B Stewart was fined $500 for returning to scale in excess of ½ a kilogram overweight. In considering penalty Stewards were mindful that BROKEN HERO placed 2nd in the event beaten 1¼ lengths. LEADERSHIP SPILL- Bumped on jumping. WHITEBAIT PATTIE- Laid in under pressure in the home straight. MISSIE ARCHER- Jumped with its head in the air. SWAN ISLAND- Raced wide in the early and middles stages. PATTY'S FORTUNE- Slow to begin. COSSIE- Raced wide throughout. COOK IT CHARLIE- Bumped on jumping. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees Reprimands Race 4- Hannah. Richardson- Careless riding.
