QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT AQUIS BEAUDESERT – TUESDAY 16th AUGUST 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Heavy 8 RAIL – 2metres 700 to 200m, 1m remainder. OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P ZimmermannStewards – K Daly, C Fedrick.Clerk of Scales – G Goold.Judge – S McMahonVeterinarian – Dr A HopgoodSwab Attendants – A ChallenStarter – K Watson. GENERAL Steward approved the jockey listed to ride overweight.Race 3 – Anthony Allen (ALBERTS IN CHARGE) plus 1/2kg at 54.5kg.Race 6 – Nori Masuda (KAYTEE LUCY) plus 1kg at 54kg Race 1: SKY RACING Class 4 Handicap 1650 metres GEOSTORM – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. HOUDINI HUDSON – Stewards permitted C Robertson to ride the horse 0.5kg over its allocated weight when no other rider was available. C Robertson was subsequently fined $300 under AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. WAIKATO – Declared a late scratching 9:15am when the horse was injured being transported to the track. Trainer S Cole was advised WAIKATO would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start. Race 2: SKY RACING Maiden Plate 1300 metres CAMPEEDO – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running until near the 300m. M Cahill, rider of CAMPEEDO, was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days pursuant to AR132(5) for use of the whip on 17 occasions in totality, 2 more than permitted, to commence midnight 17th August until midnight 24th August 2022. CAPTURED IN TIME – Slow to begin. MAGIC BOOM – From the wide draw shifted across heels in the early stages to obtain a rearward position closer to the rails. BEYOND THE SEA – Raced wide without cover throughout the event. DARK ORIGINS – Raced wide with cover throughout the event. PURINUAN BOY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race 3: DERBY DAY @BEAUY 29 October Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100 metres JACKPOT JAY – When asked to comment on tactics adopted, rider R Payne advised there were no set instructions other than to ride the horse where comfortable. She added after being bumped on jumping JACKPOT JAY settled further back in the field than anticipated. Ms Payne added at its most recent start at St George the horse hung out and made the home turn awkwardly and for that reason was today reluctant to shift wider on the home turn. Trainer P Kalinowski confirmed the instructions and Stewards noted the explanation of both parties. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. BOBBY AXELROD – Lost near fore plate in running. ROMAN HEIR – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SIR PICCOLO. SIR PICCOLO – Bumped at the start. FURNACE ON FIRE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. SIDEWALK – Slow to begin. Race 4: SKY RACING Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100 metres AWESOME MISS – Slow to begin. When over-racing improved onto heels near the 600m and had to be steadied. Held for clear running approaching the home turn. INTO CHAMPAGNE – Bumped near the 1000m. REAL TIDY – Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure for the length of the home straight. Apprentice S Willis was advised to stop riding and straighten her mounts in similar circumstances. A post-race veterinary examination revealed REAL TIDY to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer L Birchley was advised the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start. AGRACIANA – Began awkwardly. FREEFICA – Jumped in at the start. On joining up to the course proper leaving the 1000m, laid out placing both PIXIE MAGIC and INTO CHAMPAGNE in restricted room and coming together and bumping on a number of occasions. PIXIE MAGIC – Bumped near the 1000m. Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn. COOL INTELLIGENCE – Began awkwardly. Race 5: SKY RACING QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres FODOR – Raced wide for the majority of the event. EL ASTEROID – Slow to begin and a short distance later bumped by BETTER PAGE which shifted in abruptlyon jumping. BETTER PAGE – Jumped in at the start and bumped EL ASTEROID. MORE LOVE – Proved difficult to load. Jumped out at the start. Rider B Ainsworth reported the horse raced greenly throughout and would derive benefit from the race experience. BRYDELICIOUS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. LOUISIANA STAR – Held for clear running between the 600m and the 300m. Entering the home straight disappointed for a run between TRES REDOUTE and FODOR before being obliged to shift back to the inside to obtain clear running. FIDDLER ONTHE ROOF – Raced wide for the majority of the event. PRINCE OF MARAKESH – Jumped out at the start. OLYMPIC MOTTO – When asked to comment on the performance rider N Thomas advised he was disappointed with the horse’s effort as its work leading up to today had been pleasing, adding that OLYMPIC MOTTO had performed well previously on rain affected ground, however the horse was not suited on today’s racing surface. Race 6: BEAUDESERTRACECLUB.COM Maiden Plate 1100 metres QUEEN OF ADELAIDE dislodged rider T See moving onto the track and galloped a significant distance and was declared a late scratching at 3:21pm by order of Stewards. On declaration of correct weight stewards ordered all bets on QUEEN OF ADELAIDE refunded in full and the following deductions to apply: 1st TECOMA STREET – 3c win, 8c place2nd BIRMINGHAM - 6c place3rd BAY’S SPIRIT – 5c place Trainer L Kelly was advised QUEEN OF ADELAIDE would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. SECRET RED – Raced wide for the majority of the event. TECOMA STREET – Jumped in at the start and bumped BIRMINGHAM. OBSIDIAN ROSE – As N Fazackerley was to be overweight, Stewards permitted J Taylor to ride the horse. N Fazackerley was fined $200 under AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. Began awkwardly and lost ground. BIRMINGHAM – Bumped on jumping away. Held up approaching the home turn. BAY'S SPIRIT – Raced keenly in the middle stages. HUSS'N'HARRY – Raced wide for the majority of the event. JETSET ANNIE – Near the 450m steadied from the heels of HURRY HOME which shifted out. KAYTEE LUCY – Held up approaching the home turn. Race 7: NEXT RACE MEETING MONDAY 3 OCT RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1400 metres THINK I'M DREAMING underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the request of rider C Robertson on arrival at the barriers. The horse was subsequently found to be lame in the near hind leg and declared a late scratching at 4:03pm.On declaration of correct weight stewards ordered all bets on THINK I’M DREAMING refunded in full and the following deductions to apply: 1st KIRRO – 23c win, 24c place2nd FAST THINKER - 17c place3rd ROUND OF APPLAUSE – 18c place Trainer J Smerdon was advised THINK I'M DREAMINGwould require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start. FAST THINKER – Laid in over the final 100m. ROUND OF APPLAUSE – Near the 1000m was restrained to avoid the heels of FAST THINKER which shifted in when not fully clear.T See, rider of FAST THINKER, was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in this incident. ROUND OF APPLAUSE continued to over-race for some distance thereafter. JIMMY NEUTRON – Change of tactics, to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. After being restrained at the start to obtain cover, was caught racing three wide without cover despite the efforts of the rider. KIRRO – Bumped on several occasions over the final 100m when FAST THINKER laid in. MISTER WARD – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near-hind leg. Trainer R Drysdale was advised MISTER WARDwould require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race or trial start. CIAO BICKY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 8: DERBY DAY @BEAUY 29 OCT Class 1 Plate 1650 metres ASHER – When asked to comment on the performance rider T Harrison explained the horse did not appreciate racing between runners and did not appreciate today’s prevailing track conditions. FEUDALIST – Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 500m and the 250m. PATMOS ISLAND – Jumped out at the start.Raced wide for the majority of the event. DREAM CANDY – Raced wide for the majority of the event. FORCHE – Made the turn out of the home straight near the 1300m awkwardly, shifted out resulting in MOUNT ZION having to steady from heels and be taken wider and bumping with SAN BERNARDINO which became unbalanced. ROSIE RED SHOES – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 500m and the home turn. IMITARI – Bumped with SAN BERNARDINO on several occasions approaching the home turn. SAN BERNARDINO – Bumped and taken wider near 1300m. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Bumped with IMITARI on several occasions approaching the home turn.
