Ms Waugh advised that the gelding, whom is currently in the care of another trainer on her behalf whilst present in Queensland, was saddled by that stables staff and was fitted with blinkers by mistake. Ms Waugh advised that it was not at her request to apply blinkers to the gelding however a miscommunication had occurred between herself and the race day staff saddling TRINITY MISSILE which led to the error. Stewards in not issuing a penalty to Ms Waugh acknowledged that oversight was not identified by Stewards when the gelding was presented to the enclosure to race. This matter was reported to QRIC’s acting Chief Steward for his attention.
