WrightStewards – K. Daly, A. Schofield, S. Borg(Cadet)Clerk of Scales – D. McMahon GENERALStewards approved the following overweight:Race 9. S. Collett +0.5kg Race 1: EASTER SATURDAY 30 MARCH BOOK NOW FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 1 PLATE 1300 Metres ANATINI – Raced keen during the middle stages and for a short distance approaching the 800m was awkward on the heels of ROAR HIDE. Approaching the 150m momentarily steadied when WONDERFUL STAR (B. Loy) shifted in. Jockey B. Loy was advised to exercise more care. GLEEFILLY – Dipped approaching the 200m. ROAR HIDE – As apprentice J. Williams was unavailable due to transport difficulties, he was replaced by jockey P. Hamblin. Trainer E. Hargrave was reprimanded for presenting the mare without its approved gear of a nose roll. SUPER ART – On leaving the barriers, the outside gate rebounded, making contact with the mare. Raced three wide without cover throughout. DUNTROON LASS – Jockey A. Allen was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the end of the race, wherever possible. WHO INVITED HER – Slow into stride. Eased down from the 300m. Jockey N. Callow reported the filly did not feel right in its action during the middle stages and consequently was eased down approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G. Heinrich was advised the filly must Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Race 2: ANZAC DAY 25 APRIL ON SALE COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 1 PLATE 1300 Metres TIRITIRI (NZ) – Cast the near hind plate in running. WONFORWAZZA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious whilst being saddled. Raced keen during the early stages and then wide without cover. Race 3: BEAUDESERT RACECLUB.COM CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1650 Metres NO MORE RED – Raced wide from the 1000m. METAL ROCK – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SERENADE THE CAT – Near the 600m, contacted the rail. Race 4: TAB WE'RE ON MAIDEN HANDICAP 1650 Metres LAZARUS – Eased shortly after the start between MAJESTIC ANGEL and TRUST A KITTY, which shifted out. Near the 1200m, steadied from the heels of BETTERSAIDTHANDONE, shifted out and bumped WITH DIAMONDS. Hampered near the 700m. MISS INTERNATIONAL – Raced wide during the early stages. BETTERSAIDTHANDONE – Bumped on jumping with SEA OF CORTEZ. In the early stages, raced with its head up and near the 1200m shifted out and became unbalanced. When the pace slackened near the 700m steadied and contacted the rail. TRUST A KITTY – As jockey J. Guthmann-Chester was unable to make the weight, he was replaced by jockey D. Thornton. Jockey Guthmann-Chester was fined $200 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting rides when overweight (for races 4 and race 9). Shifted out on jumping. SEA OF CORTEZ – Bumped at the start. WITH DIAMONDS – Bumped near the 1200m. ENTERPRISE FUSE – Stumbled on jumping. PARIAH ON FIRE – In the early stages, raced ungenerously and when being restrained got its head up on several occasions. VALENTINO TEASE – Change of tactics – further forward. Settled behind the leader. Laid out rounding the home turn. When asked to comment on the improved performance, trainer J. Edwards stated that for first start for the stable on the 22nd of February at Kilcoy, the rider was obliged to take hold shortly after the start from the wide draw and then was not suited by the tempo of the race when ridden in a rearward position. He said that VALENTINO TEASE had been working well and shown improvement since its first start, so with lack of speed in the race, he elected to go forward with the mare today. AMONG US – Hampered near the 700m. Race 5: TAB BETS FRIENDS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1650 Metres QUEST OF QUESTS – Shifted out on jumping and bumped TAKUNAI. Laid in under pressure in the home straight, and near the 150m steadied from the heels of ESKIMO. Apprentice S. Callow reported the gelding travelled well throughout but failed to respond when placed under pressure in the home straight. TAKUNAI – Slow to begin and bumped shortly thereafter. Raced wide without cover from the 800m. THE SEEKER – Bumped on jumping. Jockey M. Cahill reported after being slow away, the gelding settled further back than expected, enjoyed a good run, and then was unable improve approaching the home turn. He added the gelding made ground late in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. CAPITEEL – Began awkwardly and bumped THE LOVE OF MARY. Held up for a run from approaching the 300m to near the 200m. FIVE STAR DECANTER (NZ) – Shifted in and bumped THE SEEKER. THE LOVE OF MARY – Bumped on jumping. Race 6: AQUIS THE HOME OF 2YO SPEED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres FIELD OF MARS – Fractious in the gates and reared on several occasions. Trainer M. Currie was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Began awkwardly. RED DECEPTION – Raced wide without cover from the 700m until approaching the 500m. LASQUETI BOOM – Slow to muster speed. SLIM PICKINGS – Momentarily reared in the barriers. YOUNG PIP – As jockey P. Hammersley was unable to make the weight, he was replaced by jockey A. Thompson. Jockey P. Hammersley was fined $100 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. When considering penalty, account was taken of his recent good record in this area. LOVE ON DISPLAY – Raced keen during the early and middle stages. Race 7: EASTER COUNTRY LUNCHEON 30 MARCH MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres MAKERS – Near the 300m, after being held up, was then awkwardly placed on the heels of GOLD ‘N’ GLAMOROUS, before shifting out abruptly. STPETERSCATHEDRAL – Slow into stride. CANUNGRA BELLE – Near the 700m, checked when tightened for room between SUENITO and SHEZAJUKE, which when laying out, shifted ground. FLEUR DE VIE – Bumped on jumping. SHALAA SPIRIT – Slow to begin. VIDEO VIXEN – Began awkwardly. GOLD 'N' GLAMOROUS – Delayed the start due to being difficult to load and then fractious in the gates. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised the mare must Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Race 8: TAB FASTER VISION CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1300 Metres INVAHIR – Raced keenly when wide in the early stages. YOU ARE KING – As apprentice J. Franklin was indisposed due to personal reasons, he was replaced by jockey J. Guthmann-Chester. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Guthmann-Chester could offer no excuse for the disappointing performance. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Trainer P. Robl advised the gelding will now be spelled. INVICTUS LAD – Bumped on jumping. MONEY BEAR – Passing the 700m, steadied from the heels of YOU ARE KING, which steadied after being crossed by INVAHIR. For some distance passing the 500m, was awkwardly placed on the heels of YOU ARE KING, which was commencing to give ground before being checked at the 250m. LADY FALVELON – Shifted out on jumping and bumped INVICTUS LAD. FIRE UP BRUCE – Raced wide with cover throughout. Race 9: ANZAC DAY COUNTRY LUNCHEON 25 APRIL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1200 Metres EXPRESSO LOVE – Jockey M. Cahill could offer no excuse for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have cardiac arrythmia. Trainer Mr D. Bougoure was advised that EXPRESSO LOVE will require a veterinary clearance, which includes the results of an ECG, prior to competing to the satisfaction of Stewards in an Official trial, before racing again. DASHING GEE GEE – Lost the off fore plate in running. GEE BEE ESS – Hampered on jumping. GREEK STAR – Shifted out on jumping. Raced wide throughout. I AM A HIT – Slow to begin. MEHAJIR – Over the concluding stages, had difficulty obtaining clear running. REDSNAP – Jockey A. Thompson could offer no excuse for the disappointing performance.
