Race 1: OUTBACK MATES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE- 1000M
 
Stewards declared LOOK ABOUT a late scratching at 12:45pm as there was no rider available.
 
THE FAB THREE – Slow to begin.
 
IMA POCKET ROCKET – Slow to begin.
 
UMBANI MAN – Slow to begin. Attempted to buck for a short distance in the early stages. Trainer B. Johnson was advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings record.
 
DE LOSKO – Rider reported that the gelding resented the kick back throughout and was reluctant to stretch out.
 
 
Race 2: NOT JUST HARDWARE CLASS B HANDICAP– 1000M
 
CHARLES – Declared a late scratching at 10:45am on veterinary advice.
 
SHE’S SO MEAN – Slow to muster early speed.
 
ENCORONADA – Slow to begin.
 
AL MAH ROCKET – Slow to muster early speed. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
BELIEVE IT OR NOT – Laid out over the concluding stages bumping another runner.
 
FALVELINO – Rider reported that the gelding failed to handle this anti-clockwise way of going.
 
TIANANMEN – Steadied from heels near the 100m. Rider reported that the gelding failed to handle this anti-clockwise way of going.
 
Race 3: BIRDSVILLE HOTEL CLASS 3 PLATE - 1000M
 
VESELKA - Declared a late scratching at 8:30am on veterinary advice.
 
BEE DOUBLE BEE – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
FOLKSTONE - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Rider could offer no explanation for the apparent disappointing performance.
 
CHRISTMAS CHEER - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
CHOICE SON - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
WISCONSIN - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
Race 4: VEOLIA BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP - 1600M
 
Start of this race was delayed when EQUISTAR was examined by the veterinary surgeon upon arrival to the barrier as requested  by its rider. Subsequently passed fit to start.
 
EQUISTAR – Trailed the field throughout. Stewards will follow up with trainer G. Tipping regarding its post-race recovery.
 
SIR CASS – Overraced in the middle stages and was checked from heels near the 1000m. Rider reported that from the 1000m the gelding failed to travel strongly and in his opinion was disappointing.
 
CONSENTED – Raced very wide in the home straight.
 
FRATELLO – Rider reported that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the dirt racing surface.
 
Race 5: UBET CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1200M
 
THE PONTSTER – Steadied from heels near the 300m.
 
BAGGINS – Laid in under pressure near the 300m.
 
ARGENTO PERLO – Barrier was slightly slow to open resulting in the mare losing some ground at the start. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
SHADOWLESS – Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer K. McGovern was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.
 
Race 6: ROAD TECH MARINE OPEN HANDICAP– 1200M
 
Start was delayed when CAMBOOYA ROCK became fractious in the barriers. Subsequently was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice.  Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on CAMBOOYA ROCK be refunded with the following deductions to apply-
 
1st- 12 cents the win, 20 cents the place.
2nd- 23 cents the place.
 
As the horse had left the track prior  follow up veterinary examination occurring stewards will arrange for a further veterinary examination in following days. Trainer E. Ferguson was advised that the gelding would require a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
ENGINE FIFTY FIVE – Slow to begin.
 
YOUR EXCELLENCY – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
BEAUDRAGON – Rider R. McMahon dropped his whip near the 200m.
