Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards considered an objection lodged by second place getter, Apprentice D. Graham (ROSOVER)  against BOLD SAM (J. Babarovich), being declared the winner, alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage it was established that passing the 100m BOLD SAM shifted in brushing ROSOVER before being straightened by its rider. BOLD SAM again shifted in approaching the finish line brushing ROSOVER on a second occasion. As Stewards were of the view that both incidents were minor in nature and would not have affected the outcome of the race, the objection was dismissed and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers.
