JETABOUT CHICK ( R Graveson) slowly away. After passing the post PADDY DAPPER (C Taylor) broke down badly in the near fore. After a veterinary examination it was found that the horse had suffered a fracture to the carpal bones. The owner was advised of the options to treat the horse but he decided to have the horse euthanased.

Race 5 Matilda Highway Jackie Howe Class 3 Handicap – 1300 Metres 12 Starters
TIME KING (O Galea) was scratched at 3.57pm at the barrier when that horse refused to load. Trainer Allan Clark was advised that TIME KING would be required to barrier test to the satisfaction of stewards prior to starting again. NOBLE KNAVE (E Camille) had to be checked at about the 800m when EBONY CRYSTAL (R Tilley) dropped back through the field. A subsequent veterinary inspection revealed that EBONY CRYSTAL was sore in the near fore. EBONY CRYSTAL was treated by the Vet. Following the race STYLET was found to have sustained a strain of the off tendon and required veterinary attention.
