STEWARDS REPORT BARCOO AMATEUR RACE CLUB INC – SATURDAY 12th NOVEMBER, 2016 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (3) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. McCrackenStewards – L. CollinsClerk of Scales –B. JohnstoneJudge – J. BanksVeterinarian- T. WassStarter- A. Allom Race 1: BLACKALL IGA CLASS 3 PLATE - 1050 metres Jockey J. Brand was reprimanded for claiming 1/2kg of her 2kg allowance on Sugar Lane. SPURSYN – Slow into stride. EQUAL RULER – Slow into stride and travelled wide for the majority with no cover. SUGAR LANE – Travelled wide for the majority with cover. SISTER WHISKEY – Fractious prior to jumping. CHANDELIER LASS – Sustained an injury to the near side foreleg and was eased down in the straight. Trainer D. O’Brien advised a veterinary clearance would be required if the mare races again. Race 2: BARCOO BUTCHERY MAIDEN PLATE - 1050 metres MISTRESS OF MONEY – Was a late scratching at 2:12pm at the barriers on veterinary advice, trainer D. Dolgner was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mares next start. Deductions of 16 cents in the dollar for win bets and 18 cents in the dollar for place bets was announced with correct weight. JALISCO – Slow to begin and was uncompetitive throughout. It was advised that the mare may now be spelled. JECHI – Jumped away awkwardly and travelled wide in the late stages with no cover. Race 3: CHRIS TURNER TRANSPORT OPEN HANDICAP - 1050 metres There was a delay to the start of race three as a storm was allowed to pass and the track inspected. A DEPENDANT – Hung out rounding the first turn and travelled wide throughout with no cover. CRAWFISH – Held up for clear running down the straight. STRATEGIC WEAPON – Jockey J. Lait was fined $100 for striking the gelding 4 times over the allowed number prior to the 100m. Stewards considered his good record. Race 4: TIMS WORKSHOP BM 50 HANDICAP - 1200 metres FASTPITCH – Travelled wide for the majority. HIDDEN CHIEF – Jumped away awkwardly. PARANA – Slow to begin as the gates bounced back on the gelding then travelled wide with no cover. Race 5: THE DRAWING BOARD BM 60 HANDICAP - 1400 metres JESSE’N’JAMES – Fractious and awkward to begin losing ground then travelled wide for the majority. THE BUNSTA – Travelled wide in the early stages. MONSIEUR HUGHES – Hung out rounding the home turn and down the straight. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees Fines J.
