RACING QUEENSLANDSTEWARDS REPORT BARCOO AMATEUR RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 14THAPRIL, 2018 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (7) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. McCrackenClerk of Scales – T. FitzsimonsJudge – M. ButlerVeterinarian – B. NewtonStarter- P. Banks Due to overnight rain, track maintenance was required prior to the commencement of the meeting. All race times were adjusted and communication, with the first race starting at 3.15pm. Following discussions between Stewards, Club committee, trainers and jockeys, the race order was amended to allow more time for the 1000m start to dry. The longer distances were run first and the 1000m was the final race of the day. Race 5: BLAA/RAY WHITE RURAL LIVESTOCK RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP - 1400 metres PARANA – Stood in the barriers losing considerable ground then travelled wide for the majority. BOJOURA – Slow to begin, then pulled up lame in the off fore fetlock. Trainer R. Frazer was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare racing again. Race 4: BLAA/LANDMARK OPEN HANDICAP - 1300 metres CRAWFISH was a late scratching at 3.33pm due to the track conditions. HANDS UP – Ducked then reared as the gates opened dislodging rider C. Bryen who was uninjured. The gelding then raced riderless for the race. A DEPENDANT – Travelled wide for the majority of the race. JUST ONE WISH – Slow into stride. GIRLS AWAY – Didn’t handle the heavy track conditions. Jockey M. Haley stated the mare blundered near the 600m and wasn’t competitive after that point. Race 3: BLAA/ELDERS CLASS 6 PLATE - 1200 metres Jockey C. Schumacher was replaced on his mount after returning to the jockey room with a strained groin and advised by ambulance officials not to continue riding. He was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to his net race ride. Apprentice N. Morton was the replacement rider on STYLISH LUCK for C. Schumacher. STYLISH LUCK – Slow to begin and slow into stride then travelled wide for the majority. AMADEO – Slow into stride and travelled wide and shifted around down the home straight when under pressure. NORUDDER NOCOMPASS – Slow into stride and jockey M. Haley stated the gelding climbed in the early stages and didn’t handle the track conditions. Race 2: BLAA/GDL CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200 metres BRIBE THE WITNESS – Was a late scratching at 5.07pm when the gelding reared and bucked in the barriers getting cast and dislodging and injuring jockey C. Bryen. Jockey Bryen was treated by ambulance officers for a badly injured ankle. Trainer B. Waldron was advised the gelding would be required to pass a barrier trial before racing again. ONE UP – Was a late scratching at 5.15pm when getting cast in the barriers. Deductions were announced with corrected weight for both late scratchings as 26 cents in the dollar value of win bets and 24 cents in the dollar of place bets. IMPLICATE -- Slow to begin. FUN FOR ME – Travelled wide for much of the race. Race 1: BLAA/BARON AGENCIES QTIS BM 55 HANDICAP - 1000 metres Jockey C. Schumacher was the replacement rider of NAYTELLRHI WORLD when H. Laffin had become indisposed. I KAN CONQUER -- Was a late scratching at 4.12pm when jockey C. Schumacher was injured and trainer D. Rewald elected to ride NAYTELLRHI WORLD in the heavy track conditions. DOS SANTOS – Was a late scratching at 5.23pm after jockey C. Bryen was injured and there was no replacement rider. Deductions of 45 cents in the win bet and 24 cents in the place bet were announced with correct weight. BAYSIDE BANDIT – Slow away and slow into stride.
