Race 1: CLONCURRY MUSTERING COMPANY CLASS 3 PLATE - 1000 metres
Apprentice A. Thompson was the replacement rider on CHRISTMAS CHEER as J. Lee-Brand had been stood down by Stewards.
NEVADA MO – Shifted in near the 300 metres crowding another runner. Apprentice A. Ross was reminded of her obligation to keep her mounts straight.
SONG ONE – Contacted at the start and slow into stride. On returning to scale it was noted the gelding had lost both front shoes in the run.
TYRANNY – Slow and awkward to begin.
I KAN CONQUER – Jumped outwards contacting an outside runner. Eased off heels near the 300 metres and forced to change course when a front runner shifted ground.
HAYYLER’S TARY – Travelled wide from the 400 metres.
BOINGO – Travelled wide in the early stages and laid in over the concluding stages under pressure.
Race 2: RABOBANK MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres
IEVERYONELOVESHARRY – Jumped outwards contacting an outside runner and travelled wide in the middle and late stages.
MISTRESS OF MONEY – Contacted at the start.
THE PENNY DROPPED – Proved difficult to load and raced greenly throughout.
POP GUN – Slow to begin.
SALLY’S SHADOW – Jockey D. Rewald was permitted by stewards to ride 1kg overweight.
Race 3: FOREST PARK CLASS B HANDICAP - 1050 metres
CHARLES – Stewards questioned Jockey D Rewald regarding the poor performance of the gelding. Jockey Rewald stated the gelding travelled hard in the early stages and was unable to keep up when other runners increased their pace. Jockey Rewald also stated that in his opinion, the gelding raced like a tired horse.
EYE STOPPER – Slow to begin.
Race 4: SWAN HILL CATTLE CO OPEN HANDICAP - 1050 metres
B. Richardson was the replacement rider for ROSIE’S SON.
BENCHI PEGASUS – Slow to begin and slow into stride.
ELJAY ATOM – Jumped awkwardly and inwards contacting an inside runner, then travelled wide for much of the race.
DRINKING COCKTAILS – Heavily contacted at the start when an inside runner jumped inwards.
STYLISH SON – Jumped outwards contacting runners to the outside and continued outwards for several strides, hampering outside runners for room. Jockey J. King was reprimanded and reminded of his obligation to keep his mount straight.
GOWER – Heavily contacted at the start when runners either side shifted ground causing the gelding to check severely and lose his position.
Race 5: LAMBERT STUD QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
ARGENTO PERLO – Slow to begin.
DREAM CAPTAIN – Slow to begin and slow to muster speed.
TENT LOVER – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
SCENT OF A WOMAN – Travelled wide in the middle stages.
SHE’S SO MEAN – Proved extremely difficult to load and lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
DURANT – Stood flat footed in the gates losing ground.
Race 6: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUAL / STRATHMORE BLACKALL CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1400 metres
Jockey C. Schumacher was the replacement rider of BLUE JEST.
Jockey J. King was permitted by stewards to ride SHAKE HER BON BON 2 kg overweight due to the mannerisms of the mare.
MENACING – Slow to begin.
SHAKE HER BON BON – Slow into stride and travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
ZENDAYE – Travelled wide in the early stages.
