RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT BARCOO AMATEUR RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 24thNOVEMBER, 2018 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (4) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. McCrackenClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – J. BanksVeterinarian – R. TrembathStarter- A. Allom Race 1: BLACKALL TYRE CENTRE BM 65 HANDICAP - 1400 metres HUNTER ISLAND – Jockey L. Dillon stated the gelding found the going very heavy especially with the weight and would now be going for a spell. CRAWFISH – Slow to begin. OUR BEATNIK – Slow to begin and slow into stride. BARBERANCE – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the race then hung in down the home straight. NORTHERN MAGIC – Travelled wide for much of the race. Race 2: BTRC B 50 HANDICAP - 1200 metres BOLD TRAVELLER and OH NO NOT AGAIN were late scratching’s at 12.30pm as there were no riders available. HIDDEN ROAD – Travelled wide in the early stages. SILVER FOX – Underwent a veterinary examination at the barriers prior to being able to start. ICE MELODY – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. SALLY’S SHADOW – Slow into stride. ROBYNLUCY – Travelled wide for much of the race. Race 3: DAYBREAK FODDER OPEN PLATE - 1050 metres Jockey B. Richardson was the rider of BOOT SHAKER and stewards accepted the reason of the late declaration of the jockey. BENCHI PEGASUS – Contacted and taken wide out on the track when an inside runner shifted ground. SAMUEL JAMES – Contacted at the start and taken wider on the track when an inside runner shifted ground then travelled wide throughout. BOOT SHAKER – Jumped and veered outwards contacting outside runners before being corrected, then travelled wide for much of the race. Trainer T Leake attributed the very awkward start to the significant break from racing that the gelding had experienced and further stated that she would do some work with the gelding in the barriers prior to its next race start. Race 4: ENRI’S ASIAN TAKEAWAY RATINGS BAND 0 – 60 HANDICAP - 1050 metres WALLBANGER was a late scratching at 2.30pm as there were no jockeys available. The gates didn’t open as the start was effected by the starter causing numerous runners to lunge at the gates, heavily contacting them. This happened on two occasions prior to the start being effected manually. The gates were looked at and tested prior to the last race. ZAHA DREAM – Lunged at the gates throwing jockey J. Lait against the front of the barriers then sliding down the side of his mount as the gates didn’t open the first time. Jockey Lait was cleared to ride and resumed his place. GOWER – Slow to begin. TENT LOVER – Slow to begin. Race 5: ANDREW RUSSELL CONSTRUCTION MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres ANDRUM – Jumped outwards contacting an outside runner. DUAN NYMPH – Jumped inwards contacting and inside runner. GYPSIES MISCHIEF – Contacted heavily at the start when runners either side jumped awkwardly, losing ground, then travelled wide for much of the race. SENTIMENTAL MISS – Reared twice prior to jumping then jumped outwards contacting an outside runner. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees Fines Nil. SuspensionNil.
