RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT BARCOO AMATEUR RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 13THAPRIL, 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (5) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. Allom Race 1: BLAA/BARRON AGENCIES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres LEO’S EXPRESS – Travelled wide with cover for much of the event. GREAT SHINE – Jumped outwards and awkwardly, then slow into stride. OUR SAY – Jumped away awkwardly. ARE YOU REAL – Travelled wide for the majority with no cover. Race 2: BLAA/RAY WHITE LIVESTOCK CLASS B HANDICAP - 1050 metres EXCEED TO WIN was a late scratching at 8.05am due to no rider being available. TENT LOVER – Raced wide for much of the race. SENTIMENTAL MISS –Travelled wide for most of the race. SALLY’S SHADOW –Slow to begin and slow into stride. SNIP’N’DRIFT – Slow to begin. Race 3: BLAA/ELDERS RATING BAND 0-60 HANDICAP - 1200 metres HIDDEN ROAD – Travelled wide for the majority of the event. BOINGO – Travelled wide in the early stages. Race 4: BLAA/GDL OPEN PLATE - 1300 metres HUNTER ISLAND – Could not muster early speed and raced ungenerously throughout. MENACING – Bounded out of the gates. KAKAKENNY – Stood in the barriers and missed the start by several lengths then travelled wide for much of the race. SAMUEL JAMES – Galloped onto heels near the 800m and was eased. TURKEY BEACH – Shifted in near the 800m tightening runners to the inside. DUCK IN DUBAI – Jumped away awkwardly. Placed in restricted room near the 800m when an outside runner shifted ground. Jockey Bell stated the gelding resented the kickback. Race 5: BLAA/LANDMARK BM 55 HANDICAP - 1400 metres L. Dillon was the rider of ICE MELODY. Stewards accepted the reason for the late declaration of the jockey by trainer W. Irwin. NERO D’AVOLA – Jumped away awkwardly. MISHANI CENTURION – Travelled wide for much of the race and hung out down the home straight under pressure. SONG ONE – Travelled wide for the majority of the race and hung out over the concluding stages. ICE MELODY – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages. NORTHERN MAGIC – Over raced in the early stages. THUNDER – After being ridden hard at the beginning of the race, finished tailed off.
