GENERAL
Due to hot weather conditions this race meeting was conducted in accordance with the QRIC caring for racing animals in extreme heat policy with pre-race parade times significantly reduced and the establishment of numerous on-course cooling stations in the race-day tie-ups and parade areas.
 
 
Race 1: HEWITT BENCHMARK QTIS BM55 HANDICAP 1050m
 
 
EMMA'S JET – Jumped away awkwardly as a result was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
CROWN REACH – Over-raced early.
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – On jumping, bumped on the hindquarters and became momentarily unbalanced.
 
RELICTA – Raced wide throughout.
 
THE RATTLESNAKE – Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 700m was restrained off heels when over-racing. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SEEBURG – Jumped away awkwardly bumping FREDDIE EDDIE, as a result was slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2: LAMBERT STUD COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1050m
 
HARALBEN – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the second time. Under the provisions of AR79(6) HARALBEN will now incur a lifetime ban from racing. 
 
GET WHAT YOU GIVE – Raced wide throughout.
 
THE SQUIRE – Raced wide with cover.
 
ENABLER – Raced wide throughout. Approaching the 200m shifted out to obtain clear racing room.
 
KINJINA – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 3: BULL CREEK BEEF MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
 
IMPENDING RAIN – raced wide throughout.
 
PARISIAN ROCKSTAR – Approaching the 1000m the saddle slipped forward placing the rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
 
 
 
Race 4: FOREST PARK STUD BM60 HANDICAP 1200m
 
WORLD CHARMER (NZ) – Raced wide with cover. Trainer P O’Toole was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for being difficult to load.
 
FIELD OF ROSES – Slow to begin.
 
BIJARA - Slow to begin.
 
SEPARATIST – Raced wide throughout.
 
SPILL THE DIAMONDS - Raced wide throughout
 
POWER SISTER - Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 5: SWAN HILL STUD CLASS 3 PLATE 1400m
 
CRAZY RUSSIAN – Slow to muster early speed.
 
REAL EMPRESS – Stood flat footed at the start. Trainer B Johnson was advised a warning would be placed on the mare.
 
MR DEMOLITION – Slow to begin.
 
LA PITTRICE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
 
Race 6: STRATHMORE SANTA GERTRUDIS STUD COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1400m
 
STARSONIC – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
SCORCHED LAND – Raced wide throughout. When questioned, apprentice jockey B Youngberry rider stated the gelding raced wide for the majority of the event and proved disappointing when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
PHOENIX FLYER – Slow into stride.
 
I AM GOOD AT THIS – Slow to begin.
 
ENTREPRENEURIAL – Slow to begin.
 
SACRED STREAM (NZ) – Approaching the 300m was momentarily inconvenienced when BALDASSARE laid in rounding the home turn. Jockey M Gray the rider of BALDASSARE was reminded of his obligations to make more of an effort to straighten his mount under similar circumstances.
 
DIVINE COURAGE – Slow to begin.
