RACE 1: MACA MINING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP - 950m
 
STYLISH SON – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight placing its rider at a disadvantage.
 
EGYPTIANBEAR – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
BOWIES BAYCONI – Reared as the start was affected and was slow to begin. Trainer O Cairns was advised a warning had been placed on the record of the mare.
 
MEG’S INHERITANCE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
RACE 2: WHITEHOUSE GROUP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1200m
 
NOONOO – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination after not competing in the past 12 months and was passed fit to start.
 
SHE DEVEL – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SHE GOES BOOM – Stood flatfooted as the start was affected and was slow to begin. Trainers representative T Simmons was advised SHE GOES BOOM would be required to trial to that satisfaction of stewards prior to a future race start.
 
NOTORIETY – Slow into stride. When questioned regarding the performance of NOTORIETY, Jockey D Simmons stated that his mount was under pressure throughout the race and in his opinion is better suited racing over greater distances.
 
RACE 3: JELLINBAH NEWMARKET BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP - 1200m
 
STELLAR KNIGHT – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MONO LAD – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ELLE A WALKING – Hampered on jumping away.
 
MILNE BAY – Jumped away awkwardly shifted out contacting ELLE A WALKING.
 
MILNE BAY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed MILNE BAY had bled from both nostrils for the first occasion. Trainer Mr R Vagg was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
SPRING ACTION – Stewards allowed S Watkin to ride 2kg over his allotted weight as no other rider was available. Slow into stride.
 
RACE 4: PLUMBWORX CLASS B HANDICAP - 1300m
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Apprentice E. Bell, rider of the 2nd placegetter, SWEET, viewed the video of the race in the vicinity of the 100m to ascertain if she had grounds to lodge a protest against MUDCRAB being declared 1st. Subsequently Apprentice Bell declined to lodge a protest.
 
SWEET – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
REAL MACHINE – Reared on jumping away and as a result was slow into stride. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
PRESCRIPTION – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
DEBBIE’S DREAM – Stewards permitted R Oakford to ride 1.5kg over his allotted weight as there was no other rider available.
 
MAGATORIAL – Rider reported that her saddle slipped in the vicinity of the 1000m placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
 
RACE 5: MCINTOSH EARTHWORX AND HAULAGE BLUFF CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 1800m
 
OPTION – Slow to begin
 
MIAZUMI – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
