QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BLUFF-BLACKWATER AMATEUR RACE CLUB INC SATURDAY, 28TH AUGUST 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Mr E. Moulds Race 1: PAUL BYRNE MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0-50 HANDICAP 1300M CANNY SKATE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. DIAMOND ACCOUNT – Raced wide throughout the event. CASSAVANCE – Raced wide throughout the event. SHINING BLUE – Jockey J. Baker was granted permission from stewards to ride the gelding 2.5kg overweight as there were no other available riders. Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Following the running of Race 1, Jockey J. Baker was stood down for the remainder of today’s event by QAS Officials. Jockey J. Baker was replaced for his remaining rides and was advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to any future race ride. ON THE TWEED – Raced wide throughout the event. AUSSIE TYCOON – Slow to begin. RACE 2: MCINTOSH EARTHWORKS / BLACKWATER QUARRIES & CONCRETE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M BEAT DA LIGHT – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. BOBBYBOUCHE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. SENSE OF EXPENSE – Raced wide throughout the event. Jockey C. Rodgers was fined a sum of $300.00 in that she used her whip eight (8) times prior to the 100m, three more than permitted under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii). Stewards took into account this was Jockey C. Rodger’s first breach pursuant to the rule. VOK’S THE ONE – Raced wide throughout the event. HAYZENA – Following the running of the race, Apprentice Jockey A. Donald was examined by QAS Officials as she was struck by a stone, causing injury to the mouth region. Apprentice A. Donald was cleared to fulfill her remaining engagements. SHIRAISHI – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Between the 800m and 600m, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of EMPORER’S REWARD. Held up rounding the home turn. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Trainer G. Bell was advised a warning would be placed on the mare due to being fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. RACE 3: WHITEHOUSE GROUP NEWMARKET BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M SEQUABLUR – Apprentice Jockey C. Collis was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out past the finishing post. SOUL DANCER – Jumped away awkwardly. NECESSITAS (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. Laid in over the concluding stages. MISHANI FORTUNE – Slow to begin. Held up entering the home straight. RACE 4: THANK YOU LOCAL VOLUNTEERS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000M FLASH HOMBRE – Hampered on jumping by MYMILL. MYMILL – Shifted in on jumping, hampering FLASH HOMBRE. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Held up for clear running passing the 100m. SAME OLD STORY – Raced wide throughout the event. RACE 5: JELLINBAH MINE BLUFF CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1800M MALVAGIO – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Upon returning to scale, Apprentice Jockey O. Kendal reported that her saddle had shifted in the early stages of the race, placing her at a disadvantage. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of tying up.PATRICK’S ME MATE – Apprentice Jockey A. Donald was fined a sum of $300.00 in that she used her whip eight (8) times prior to the 100m, three more than permitted under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii). Stewards took into account this was Apprentice Jockey A. Donald’s second breach pursuant to the rule. DELIUS – Apprentice Jockey A. Ross was suspended for a period of eight (8) days, to commence midnight the 31/08/2021 to midnight the 08/09/2021 for using her whip on seventeen (17) occasions in totality pursuant to AR132(5). Stewards took into consideration this was Apprentice Jockey A. Ross’s second breach pursuant to the rule.
