GENERAL
 
A number of unavoidable riding changes are listed, as per Stewards Summary sheet.   
 
Race 1: BRETT & MARI GUNDERSEN MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
 
ROCKET ELEMENT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 2: REMOTE MECHANICAL SERVICES OPEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
SMOOTH ELEMENT – Raced 3 wide without cover forthe majority of the race.
 
REGAL CONSERVE – Knuckled on jumping and had a tendency to lay out for the majority of the race. When questioned onto the disappointing performance rider K. Ballard stated that after beginning awkwardly he was the opinion the gelding was on its wrong leg, which resulted in the horse laying out. He further added REGAL CONSERVE was disappointing first up in its previous campaign. Trainer Mrs D. Ballard was at loss to explain the disappointing performance other than the gelding was disappointing first up last preparation. Mrs Ballard gave an undertaking to advise Stewards should anything come to her attention in the near future that may have had a bearing on today’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.      
 
Race 3: BRENT & KATE KRAUSE – KABS PLUMBING BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP – 1000M
 
ONE TUFF CUPCAKE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race and had a tendency to lay out.
 
CRAIGLEA SWIFT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.   
 
I’M DESPERATE TO – Had difficulties obtaining clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
 
Race 4: TOBY & GEM HARRIS ROAD CONTRACTORS BOULIA CUP BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1400M
 
LOGAN’S RUN – Slow into stride.
 
DIURNAL TIGER – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 1300m and was steadied.
 
HE’S A MAGICIAN – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
WHAT THE HECK – Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
 
Race 5: DULCIE GRIMSHAW MEMORIAL QTIS BENCHMARK 45 H'CAP – 1200M
 
RAPID QUALO – Retired from the race after entering the home straight when the rider felt something was amiss with the gelding. As Ms Gabriel-Royce had left the course prior to the veterinary surgeon being able to examine the horse she will be advised a full veterinary examination prior to the gelding completing a trial to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again.     
 
THE GIRLS IN PARIS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LUNAR LUCK – Raced wide for the majority of the race. When questioned into the improved performance trainer J. Bawden stated the mare had been steadily improving in grades higher than that of today’s event in his opinion and a step up in distance was also beneficial to its improved performance today. His explanation was noted.
