Ballard to ride the gelding 1/2 kg overweight.BEYONDTASTIC – Raced wide rounding home turn.DEVIL – Was declared a late scratching at 1pm by order of Stewards when unable to be loaded into the barriers. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded in full with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 1pm:21 cents for the win22 cents for the placeTrainer J. Bawden was advised the horse would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. Race 2: GRIMSHAW MEMORIAL QTIS Maiden Plate (1000m)MISHANI DUDE – Fractious in the barriers prior to start underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Resented the kickback in running. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Ms S Royes was advised the gelding would require a Veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to start in a race.SINGLE MALT – Stewards permitted rider J. Baker to ride the gelding 1 kg overweight as no other rider was available. Attempted to buck soon after the start and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer Ms T. Parry was advised the gelding would be require to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race.BAMBOLEO – Raced greenly throughout.CRACKEL CAUSE – Raced wide majority. Race 3: AUSTRALIAN HOTEL BOULIA BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1200m)ONTHETAKE – Raced wide majority.CADENCE – Was declared a late scratching at 1:54pm by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice after being found to be lame in the off fore leg. As betting had commenced, prior to correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on CADENCE to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all winning bets prior to 1:54pm.25 cents on the dollar on the face value of all win bets and24 cents on the dollar on the face value of all place bets. Trainer Ms S Royes was advised a veterinary clearance will be required prior to its next race start. ALBERT THE ROCKET – Raced wide majority. Race 4: TOBY HARRIS MEMORIAL BOULIA CUP OPEN Handicap (1400m)EVENING GLORY – Stewards permitted rider D. Ballard to ride the gelding 1/2 kg overweight. Had to be steadied off heels in the early stages when over racing, raced wide in the middle stages and rounding home turn.ZOOMARATTA – Raced wide rounding home turn. Jockey D. Sparks was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted.MOPAR – Raced wide majority.LOUIE THE LEGEND – Race wide majority.
