Race 1: Thank you Wally Groocock QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1000m
 
CRAIGLEA GRACE – Rider B. Thomson reported the filly was inclined to race greenly in the middle stages.
 
 
Race 2: Abbot Point Bulk Coal QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1000m
 
Due to a malfunction with the photo-finish equipment, stewards, acting under AR214, issued correct weight after confirming the Judge’s numbers.
 
JACK REACHER – Tightened between runners on jumping. Jockey F. Edwards  was reprimanded  in relation to his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
CRAIGLEA ARION – Inconvenienced on jumping.
 
MADAM LOVE – Inconvenienced on jumping.  Hampered near the 800m by another runner, which was inclined to lay in.
 
STARS DON’T RUST – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
MUZANBOAL ROUGE – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
LANZOFFANY – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
LITTLE MISS SUNDAY – Inclined to lay in near the 800m despite the efforts of its rider C. Whiteley and hampered another runner.
 
LOVEISALL YOUNEED – Eased off heels near the 600m.
 
 
Race 3: Central Hotel Bowen Maiden H’cap – 1280m
 
HONEST NATALIE – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer M. McLellan for the late engagement of G. Watson as the rider of the horse. Slowly into stride after being tightened between runners on jumping. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
BOBTHEACCOUNTANT – Slowly into stride. A post race veterinary examination of the colt, which raced disappointingly, revealed suspected trauma to a retained testicle. Trainer A Molino advised that the colt would be given an ease up would do its future racing as a gelding.
 
SEAMAD – Slowly into stride.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE – Shifted out abruptly on jumping, tightening runners to its outside. Rider B. Thomson was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
CANDY GIRL – Shifted in on jumping, tightening runners to its inside.
 
DUBAI ME A SAGA – Slowly into stride after being tightened between runners on jumping.
 
 
Race 4: Pity Pony Tavern Class 6 H’cap – 1280m
 
DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE – Slowly into stride.
 
FORGIVE ME – Slowly into stride. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which performed disappointingly after racing wide for the majority of the race, revealed no abnormalities.
 
ARCHIE’S SON – Inclined to overrace in the early stages.
 
THURSTON – Prior to the commencement of the meeting connections advised stewards that an attempt would be made to ride the gelding on pace today should circumstances permit. Advice to this effect was made through social media and public announcement. The gelding raced accordingly. Inclined to overrace in the middle stages when the pace slackened.
 
 
Race 5: Industry Fire Services Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1000m
 
LE CHIFFRE – Slowly into stride.
 
SHROUDED – Inclined to race ungenerously for a short distance passing the 700m.
 
COSMOLOGICAL – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
GREY SAMBUCCA – Stewards interviewed trainer Mr L. Smerdon in relation to the performance of the horse.  Mr Smerdon pointed out that the gelding, which was having its first start in 6 months, had raced well first up on a number of occasions in the past, adding that although he did not support the gelding today, it had been working well and was confident of a forward showing and was not completely surprised by its winning effort.
 
 
Race 6: Industry Fire & First Aird Ratings Band 0-55 H’cap 1000m
 
MISHANI LA SCALA – As jockey N. Nelson was indisposed, Jockey L. Tilley was substituted as the rider of the hose.
 
On return to scale a protest was lodged by Mr W. Winters, trainer of the 6th placegetter, CORNISH TALES, against DIAMOND COUNTRY being placed 5th on the grounds of interference approaching the winning post.  After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol video, the protest was dismissed.  
 
LADY MIRABELLA – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
 
DIAMOND COUNTRY – Slowly away. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages, slightly inconveniencing other runners approaching the winning post. Jockey G. Watson was severely reprimanded for careless riding in that he failed to stop riding and straighten his mount.  Stewards also fined jockey Watson $100 for excessive use of his whip prior to the 100m.
 
EXOTERICAL – Slightly inconvenienced approaching the winning post.
 
CORNISH TALES – Slightly inconvenienced approaching the winning post.
 
MISHANI LA SCALA – Jockey L. Tilley was fined the sum of $100 for excessive use of his whip prior to the 100m.
 
MR SONADOR – Jockey S. Wilson was reprimanded for excessive use of his whip prior to the 100m.
 
LEGAL LOOPHOLE – Commenced to buck shortly after the start, taking no competitive part in the event. Trainer M. Jokic was advised that the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to race again.
 
 
Race 7: Industry Fire & Safety Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1470m
 
JETINTOIT – Restrained soon after the start to obtain a position closer to the inside rail.
 
KAHUNA – Inclined to overrace for some distance in the middle stages.
 
FINE ‘N’ DEVINE – Restrained off heels near the 1200m.
 
ARNO BAY – A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which raced disappointingly revealed no abnormalities.
 
GOWAY GAL – A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.
