Race 1: BOWEN TURF CLUB BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000m

Declaration of correct weight was delayed when upon returning to scale Jockey D Smith, rider of 4th place getter MALLYUMKIN, was found to have weighed-in in excess of 0.5kg under the mares allocated weight. As such Stewards, acting under the provisions of AR209, disqualified MALLYUMKIN from the race and correct weight declared on the amended numbers of:

1st 2-GOLDIES ARCHER
2nd 5-CEEBIZ KIT
3rd 1-CABALO ESCURO
4th 8-RIVERINA DEMAND

At a subsequent inquiry Jockey D Smith pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR209 and was subsequently fined the sum of $500. Jockey Smith was advised of his right to an internal review.
