Race 1. VERIS QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1000mMY BOY TICKETS – The gelding, which was resuming following a lengthy absence from racing, underwent a Veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Passing the 800m when racing keenly had to be restrained when crossed by another runner which was not fully clear. Shifted out as a result of this incident placing a runner to its outside in restricted room.HAN DYNASTY – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted in passing the 800m hampering a runner to its inside. App A Donald was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a).CURVETTA – Shifted in marginally passing the 800m crowding a runner to its inside. Jockey D Smith was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced wide for the majority.WHITSUNDAY STAR – Had to be restrained passing the 800m when placed in restricted room between runners.LA READY ROSA – Over-raced after improving onto heels near the 850m. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey S Pawsey reported the mare had displayed signs of respiratory distress over the concluding stages. Trainer K Russell was advised a Veterinary clearance including a clear endoscopic examination is required prior to next race start.Race 2. SYNCLIFT MAIDEN PLATE 1000mGRANMA - The mare, which raced at Townsville 2 days previously, underwent a Veterinary inspection and was cleared to start.TINY TIARA - The mare, which raced at Townsville 2 days previously, underwent a Veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping.VALIANT KNIGHT – Bumped with another runner on jumping. ALPHA BLUE – Slowly into stride.Jockey J Felix who rode ROYO was cautioned in relation to his use of the whip prior to the 100m. Race 3. VERIS BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1200mBOLD ZIP – Slowly into stride. Raced wide from the 600m.BULLET LAD – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.RAISE DA VIBRATION – Jockey S Sheargold reported the saddle shifted back early in running placing him at a slight disadvantage when riding the gelding out over the concluding stages.Race 4. SYNCLIFT OPEN HANDICAP 1200mHIT SNOOZE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.BOYER (NZ) – Over-raced in the middle stages.FAB’S COWBOY – Raced wide for the majority.MORENO – Jockey F Edwards reported the gelding, which contested the lead in the early and middle stages, had failed to respond to his efforts in the home straight and, in his opinion, today’s heavy impost had been a telling factor in the performance. Race 5. VERIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1470mJOHNNY WHITESOX – Was a late withdrawal at 3.41pm on Veterinary advice when displaying signs of heat stress. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on the gelding be refunded in full and further that all successful wagers placed on the event prior to the time of scratching be subject to deductions of 4 cents in the dollar win and 5 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer’s Representative J Manzelmann was advised a Veterinary clearance is required prior to next race start.AMUTHON – Due to an administrative error Blinkers were part of the gelding’s advertised gear. Stewards approved a request from Trainer C McCann for the gelding to race without Blinkers. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.IMMUTABLE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.PUMPS (NZ) – Jockey S Sheargold reported the gelding had raced ungenerously for the majority.MOLONGLE DRIFTER – Jockey G Kliese reported the bit shifted in the gelding’s mouth early in running resulting in it racing very ungenerously throughout. Trainer B Williams advised he intends to implement a gear change prior to next race start.Race 6.
