Rider changes as per Stewards Race Day Summary. The following horse underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start.MISHANI DUDE, MACKENIZIE COUNTRY, READY MISTER MUSIC, PIQABOO, BORROMEO, NO HARM DONE, NORAH, GAMETIME, SILENTUS Race 1: PILCHERS CONCRETE QTIS 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m MISHANI DUDE – Fractious in the barrier. YABULU PRINCESS – Restrained in the early stages in order to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail. KAMARCHER - Restrained in the early stages in order to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail. EXPLOSIVE GIRL – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. COCHRANE – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 2: HILLERY GROUP MAIDEN PLATE SET WEIGHTS 1000m SUNNY EKCELS – Began awkwardly. MONEY TRAVELS – Slowly into stride. KILKENNY JACK – Slowly into stride. TIACLAIR – Bumped with a runner to the outside on jumping. EMMA ROCKET – Bumped with a runner to the inside on jumping. ALL BAR SURAH – Bumped with a runner to the outside soon after the start. Raced wide for the majority. MACKENZIE COUNTRY – Bumped with a runner to the inside soon after the start. YUFCALLEDCHARLIE – Raced wide for the majority. Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred approaching the 800m in which ALBERTESSA (C Jokic) when improving forward had shifted in placing pressure on TINY TIARA (W D’Avila) resulting in that horse commencing to over-race and having to be restrained. After taking evidence from both riders and viewing patrol footage Jockey C Jokic was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a). Race 3: BOWEN TYRE & MECHANICAL CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000m MURUNGAL – Began awkwardly and hampered soon after jumping by a runner to the outside which shifted in. Restrained after shifting in and improving onto the heels of another runner near the 950 and inclined to race keenly for some distance soon after. PIQABOO – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. MAN O’ ROSS – Raced wide for the majority. FREE DAWN – Jockey J Stanley advised that in his opinion FREE DAWN which was resuming after a lengthy spell was in need of today’s run would benefit from the outing. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. READY MISTER MUSIC – Jockey W D’Avila was cautioned in relation to his use of the whip under the provisions of AR132(6)(b). Race 4: BURDEKIN VET SERVICES OPEN HANDICAP 1000m LEVEL EIGHT – Slowly into stride. SUCH A WHIT – Shifted out on jumping bumping with a runner to the outside. Crowded between runners shortly after the start. HIT SNOOZE – Was bumped by a runner to the inside after jumping. MORENO (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. EL SHADAY (NZ) – Lost its near fore plate in the running. Race 5: RTM ENGINEERING BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1470m AMUTHON - Connections advised Stewards it would be their intention for the gelding to be ridden positively should circumstances permit. Marginally slow into stride. Inclined to race ungenerously in the early stages. Commenced to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Crowded a runner to the inside passing the 100m. SALSA DREAMING – Marginally slow into stride. Raced keenly in the middle stages. LEFKAS ISLAND – Crowded by a runner to the outside passing the 100m. Eased approaching the finish line when jockey J Stanley felt that something may have been amiss with the mare. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Trainer O Cairns will report to Stewards should anything which may have had a bearing on today’s performance show up in coming days. Race 6: S&W CRANE HIRE CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1280m Trainer T Cook was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR36(6) for failing to scratch a dual acceptor by the prescribed time. RED PERONI – Buffeted between runners on jumping. Over-raced in the early stages. HAVANNAH SUNSET – Slowly into stride. Inconvenienced passing the 700m. PLUCKERCARN – Slowly into stride. Forced wider passing the 700m. SOUND OF SLEAT – Over-raced in the early stages. YUAN FEN – Severely hampered passing the 700m shifting out forcing a runner to the outside wider. Jockey A Sewell was fined the sum of $300 under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip on 15 occasions in total, one more than permitted (4th offence). Stewards intend to inquire into the reason why Jockey S Pawsey was dislodged from MISHANI REBEL at a point near the 700m. This inquiry will take place when Jockey Pawsey is fit to attend. Race 7: TICS GROUP CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1470m GAMETIME – Slowly away. BORROMEO – Trainer R Stagg was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) for failing to engage a rider by the prescribed time. Raced wide in the early stages. CHOMPERS – Shifted wider from the 500m and raced wide from that point. SEDGEMOOR - Shifted wider from the 500m and raced wide from that point. Race 8. MI SCAFFOLD RATIGS BAND 0-50 HANDICAP 1100m BOLD ZIP – Slowly into stride. LA FURIOSO – After beginning better than expected was restrained near the 1000m to take up a position just off the pace. Raced wide in the middle stages. JACJAC JACQUI – Raced ungenerously for the majority of the back straight. CAT IN THE RAINE – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. LISTEN MATE – Raced wide for the majority. KARBORS – When questioned into the seemingly improved performance, Trainer O Cairns advised Stewards that since entering her stable recently the gelding’s work had been very pleasing. Trainer Cairns also advised Stewards that although there was no wagering support from the stable today, she did expect a forward showing.
