DAWN TOO GOOD – Apprentice Jockey I. Teh accompanied by Senior Jockey G. Kliese and Trainer B. Kenning were questioned on the riding tactics adopted by Apprentice Teh on DAWN TOO GOOD. Trainer Kenning advised that he had instructed that the horse be ridden forward as is the usual racing pattern of DAWN TOO GOOD. Apprentice Teh advised that after beginning on terms with the field, she was unable to improve from the turn out of the back straight after trailing SHIGERU MAHOGANY and raced on that horses’ heels when overracing for some distance. SHIGERU MAHOGANY did not improve from that point which in turn did not take her into the race. Apprentice Teh advised that she did obtain clear running until entering the top of the straight. The explanation of Apprentice Teh was noted but Stewards advised that she could have shown more vigour in the very early stages after jumping to obtain a more forward position.
