Stewards declared EMPIRE LINE ( 2nd emergency) a late scratching at12 noon after interviewing Trainer Mr D NcEwan who advised he contacted Racing Services on Friday 11th May 2007 and was advised there was only 1 scratching. Mr McEwan stated he left his stables at 6-30Am, with LAURIE’S LANE being declared a late scratching with Racing Services at 7-05Am on the 12/5/07.
LUELIA (Jky C Kearney) was restless in the barriers and began awkwardly.
A protest was lodged by Jky K McAuley the rider of second placed horse PRINCE ANTIBES against the winner DREAM’S COMMING ridden by Jky B Appo claiming interference 50mtrs from the winning post. After taking evidence from all parties , viewing the patrol film and Stewards observation, Stewards upheld the objection citing the ground lost was more than the neck margin with bookmakers and the public being advised of Stewards decision and change of placing via the Public address system
At a subsequent inquiry Jky B Appo stated his mount DREAM’S COMING shied at the winning post.Stewards accepted this evidence as Jky Appo mount began to prick its ears at his stage and shift out resulting in Jky McAuley having to take hold of his mount. Steward declared Jky B Appo was not at fault in this incident.
The Public was advised that Beau Agland is now a senior rider not an apprentice as stated in the race book via the Public Address System.
Race 2 BGA AGISERVICES/CRT/AGFORCE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200MTRS

AVALLAR (App K Treble was slowly away.
RACE GOSSIP (App R Henrick) shifted ground on the home turn and raced wide in the straight.
On returning to scale Jky K McAuley the rider oF STEP AROUND requested to view the head on video of the start claiming he was denied a fair claiming he was not ready. After viewing the start Stewards were satisfied STEP AROUND was afforded a fair start (AR134A). JKy McAuley was instructed it was his responsibility to be prepared for the start and advice the Starter if having problems.
Both Jky D Van Bekkum the rider of RIVER BLU and Jky L Appo the rider STYLISH IMPULSE requested to view the video of the race rounding the home turn, with both riders protesting against the winner GOLD THOUGHT ridden by App I French.
Jky D Van Bekkum the rider of RIVER BLU (second placed horse)protested against the winner GOLD THOUGHT ridden by App I French claiming interference rounding the home turn claiming she was forced out by App Frenchs mount.
Jky L Appo the rider of STYLISH IMPULSE (third placed horse) protested against the winner GOLD THOUGHT ridden by App I French claiming interference rounding the home turn claiming he was forced out by Jky Van Bekkum mount which he claimed was taken out by App I Frenchs mount.
After hearing evidence for all parties, viewing the patrol film and Stewards observation both objections were dismissed with Stewards advising both Jky Van Bekkum and Jky L Appo the were boarding on lodging a frivolous objection. Correct weight was announced on the Judges placing. In this incident rounding the home turn App Frenchs mount did shift slightly with both Jky Van Bekkum mount and Jky Appo mount shifting ground on the home turn.
Race 3 SENGS/VALTRA/ABC SOUTHERN QUEENSLAND PATRON’S CUP CLASS1 1200MTRS
(1) OH MARTINA (2) NICOLOSI (3) SINGATIM (4) ST BOLERO
NICOLOSI (Jky R Hancock) jumped inwardly taking SINGATIM (Jky D Hutchins) in onto SIMPLE JUSTICE (App I French)
On returning to scale App I French the rider of SIMPLE JUSTICE requested to view the head on video of the start claiming he was denied a fair start as his mount had its head over the adjacent stall. After viewing the head on video and taking evidence from the starter Mr A Downes who stated App French called out as he released the field. Stewards declared SIMPLE JUSTICE a starter and advised App French the terms of rule AR134A
Prior to correct weight App K Treble the rider of ST BOLERO requested to view the photo print claiming she believed she ran third . After viewing the print with Stewards App Treble was satisfied with the Judges placings.
Race 4 CROW FM 90.7 CLASS 6 HCP 1200MTRS
(1) THINK ZINC (2) EDIBLES (3) I DARED (4) REGAL CHARMER
YUKON (App K Treble) and IT’S VOLCANIC (Jky R Hancock) came together at the start
Jky B Appo the rider of I DARED was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in tightening the run of YUKON PRIDE ridden by App K Treble approaching the 1000mtr mark
CROWN PRINCE (App R Hinricks), VALLUGA (Jky T Banks) and it’s volcanic (Jky R Hancock) shifted ground on the home turn.
Race 5 SOUTH BURNETT TIMES CLASS 3 PLATE 1400MTRS
(1) SHOWER UPON (2) YOSSARIAN (3) TOP’S LAD (4) INXCEDE
AS CUSTOMARY (Jky D Van Dekkum) was slowly away
YOSSARIAN (App K Treble) shifted ground in the straight.
KOVU (Jky B Calkin) pulled up lame and was inspected by the Club Vet who reported to Stewards the gelding had sprained the O/F fetlock. Trainer Mr P Richardson was instructed a veterinary certificate of soundness must be given to Stewards before the gelding starts again.
