RACE 1: NORTHERN STEVEDORING SERVICES MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M  
 
HARD LOVE – Jockey M. Hart was permitted to ride the horse 1/2kg over its allotted weight when no other suitable rider was available. When questioned regarding the below market expectations performance of the horse rider M. Hart stated the mare never felt comfortable on today’s surface and was reluctant to stretch out.   
 
GROHL – Slow to begin. Rider J. Felix advised Stewards following the event that the gelding resented the kick-back and as such he elected to shift wider leaving the 700m and felt the gelding finished the race off fairly.
 
SOME FAIRY SONG – Slow to begin.
 
Following the running of this event, Stewards brought all remaining races forward due to the pending forecast and threatening weather.   
 
RACE 2: LANDMARK & EQUISTITCH CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M 
 
TOP DECISION – Jockey M. Hart was permitted to ride the gelding 2kg over its allotted weight when no other suitable rider was available.
 
SEEKTOWIN – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Rider N. Nelson advised Stewards following the event that the gelding resented the kick-back and as such she elected to shift wider leaving the 700m and the gelding finished the race off strongly. 
 ANNE CATHERINE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
RACE 3: TRUEFIT BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1000M 
 
Stewards questioned trainer A. Cameron in regards to the scratching of WE FOUND IT, which   reduced the field size to three runners. After hearing initial evidence, Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date and time to be fixed to allow them to investigate the matter further.       
 
AMERICAN HERO – Blundered badly on jumping almost dislodging rider B. Thomson.
 
SUCKER – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the below market expectations performance of the horse rider P. Cullen stated the gelding never felt comfortable on today’s track surface and was further of the opinion the impost of 60kg was also a telling factor in today’s performance.   
 
RACE 4: BURDEKIN BRAHMANS BENCHMARCK 50 H’CAP – 1200M 
 
Prior to the start of this race and following a further shower, Stewards inspected the track and were satisfied for the meeting to proceed.
 
OUR LITTLE MIRACLE – Slow to begin.
 
PERFECTLY SWEET – Slow to begin.
 
SPORTS TYCOON – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
OUR HUSSLER – When questioned regarding the horses performance rider C. Jokic explained the gelding travelled well until entering the home straight but then failed to respond to her riding and was disappointing. Trainer M. Young was disappointed with its performance and advised she would monitor the horse’s progress going forward and would advise Stewards should anything come to her attention that may have had a bearing on its performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.     
 
RACE 5: DUNN CONTRACTING & TOWERS CONCRETING CLASS B H'CAP – 1400M 
 
BALLERDEE BOB – Fractious during it preliminary dislodging rider J. Felix who had a seemingly harmless fall and declared himself free of injury. The gelding was quickly recaptured, examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start. Trainer B. Williams was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race manners. 
 
SENORITA ROSITA – Rider B. Thomson on return to scale explained the mare never felt comfortable on today’s surface and was reluctant to stretch out.  
 
PREMIER PLACE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PALM SPRINGS - Rider C. Jokic advised Stewards on returning to scale the mare never felt comfortable on today’s surface and was reluctant to stride out.
