Stewards inquired into the reasons TOTAL DISTAIN (App. E Cass) had to be restrained shortly after the winning post. After hearing evidence from the riders involved and reviewing the patrol footage it was determined that shortly after the winning post WINDOW SEAT (P Romeo), which had been inclined to lay in down the running, continued to shift in and as a result RAW INSTINCT (C Jokic) shifted in an away from that runner. Simultaneously, DIYOSA (N Nelson) shifted out marginally causing TOTAL DISTAIN, which was racing between RAW INSTINCT and DIYOSA, to be restrained. As a result of this incident all riders were advised to exercise greater care in keeping their mounts straight.

Jockey P Cullen advised he believed the mare to be very soft mouthed and resented his efforts to restrain at that point in an effort to obtain a more favourable position behind the leader. Stewards noted the explanation.

NITRO CITY- Shifted out marginally entering the home straight momentarily placing another runner in restricted room.

TRAVERS- Shifted in marginally entering the home straight momentarily placing another runner in restricted room. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
