QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CHARTERS TOWERS AMATEUR RACE CLUB CHARTERS TOWERS – SATURDAY 17 10 2020 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C WarrenStewards – M BraunbergerClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – G EvansVeterinarian – Dr D VieroSwab Attendants – Ms M BraunbergerStarter – P Clarke GENERAL Trainer S Royes will be interviewed regarding the late scratching of MAKING SHADOWS. Race 1: MINJAR GOLD QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m CLAIRVUE SAGA- After racing on the 13th of October 2020, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. LINGY- Stewards inquired into the circumstances surrounding Trainers representative Mr C Rafter saddling and presenting the incorrect horse to the mounting yard for pre-race inspection. Mr Rafter advised that he had erred by saddling and presenting ISA PRINCESS rather than LINGY after becoming disordered as to the two horse’s identities. Trainer T Parry pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR99(b) in that she as the Trainer of LINGY was responsible for the incorrect runner being presented to the mounting yard for pre-race inspection. Miss Parry was subsequently fined the sum of $400 and advised of her rights to an internal review. The start was delayed when the gelding required the saddle to be adjusted at the barriers. ROYAL RUSKI- Began awkwardly. MOLONGLE SURPRISE- Dwelt in the barriers before beginning awkwardly and shifting out on jumping. Raced wide early. Race 2: HAMMER & CO CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m MOLONGLE DRIFTER- Stewards granted permission for Jockey T Bannon to ride the gelding 1.5kg over its allotted weight as no other rider was available. TATACHILLA- Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping another runner. Raced wide throughout. ISA PRINCESS- Bumped by another runner which shifted in on jumping. Raced wide throughout. MISS ELLEY- Jockey N Nelson advised that the mare never felt comfortable in running. Race 3: TITLEYS DEPARTMENT STORE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200m WE’LL BEAT IT- Stewards granted permission for Jockey T Bannon to ride the gelding 2.5kg over its allotted weight as no other rider was available. Raced wide the majority. SIZZLESUN- Slow to begin. Failed to muster the early speed to maintain contact with the field and tailed the field throughout before finishing the race off well. ANNE CATHERINE- Raced wide early. On returning to scale Jockey P Romeo advised that his saddle slipped passing the 100m placing him at a slight disadvantage from that point. Race 4: CHARTERS TOWERS AMATEUR CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400m MARTIAL ART- Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner. Jockey P Romeo was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m. CHARLIE CAT- Bumped with another runner on jumping. THE DECKRAIDER- Shifted very wide from the 1300m to avoid the kickback. Race 5: ENTERPRISE HOTEL & TOYOTA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1800m FLUIDITY- After racing on the 13th of October 2020, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin. Raced keenly for a short distance passing the 1400m when being restrained in an effort to settle in a forward position off the pace. Jockey P Romeo was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m. FIRE RANGER- The start of the race was delayed when the gelding required re-saddling at the barriers. Slow to begin. Jockey K Aho advised that her saddle slipped near the 500m placing her at a disadvantage from that point. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
