GENERAL

After inspecting the racetrack on arrival at the venue, and finding a section of the surface between the 1300m and the 1100m unsuitable for racing due to unsuccessful remedial work following recent rain, Stewards acting under the provisions of AR21(f)(ii) made the decision to reduce the distance of Race 1 from 1400m to 1200m. All parties directly impacted, including Bookmakers, were advised, with connections being given the opportunity to scratch without penalty. On-course patrons were advised via public address.

Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted under the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.

Licensed stablehands L Finch and J Doolan both pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR228(b) in that they conducted themselves improperly by engaging in a verbal altercation and using obscene language in the mounting yard prior to the running of Race 4. Both Ms. Finch and Ms.Doolan were fined the sum of $200 and advised of their right to refer the matter to the Internal Reviewer.
