WEATHER – FINE TRACK – SAND RAIL – TRUE
GENERAL:
As J Oakes was indisposed for the entire meeting the jockey alterations were:
Race 4 Sippy Downs C Bryen
Race 6 Bold and Proud C Bryen
RACE 1: QANTAS QTIS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000m
Both LAVA LOVER and ARADANE were slow to begin.
RACE 2: FRANK CAVANOUGH MEMORIAL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200m
As J Baker was to be overweight he was replaced as the rider of FOX AMBER by A Lane.
FOX AMBER was slowly into stride.
STRONG VERSE shifted out leaving the 200m forcing FOX AMBER to shift out to avoid heels.
RACE 3: COCA COLA AMATIL P/L CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1400m
As J Baker was to be overweight Y Yamazaki replaced him as the rider of SARANEE.
At a subsequent inquiry J Baker was fined the sum of $200 for the infringements.
STEFAMA was slow to begin.
THE MOSSY BANK KID blundered on jumping.
THE MOSSY BANK KID which was forced to race wide was inspected by the clubs vet and was found to be favouring the near fore leg. However, upon later inspection, no abnormalities were found. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of THE MOSSY BANK KID apprentice J Dagan stated that after blundering the horse did not stretch out and was unable to obtain a position close in to the rail. Apprentice J Dagans’ explanation was accepted.
RACE 4: WAGNER, DOYLE, GORDON & MICHAEL SCHNEIDER’S CHARLEVILLE PHARMACY CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1000m
BAT AN EYE blundered and lost ground on jumping.
COLOUR ME SPECIAL reared as the gates opened losing ground.
Shortly after the start REDWOOD RULER was inclined to lie in forcing CHADLIN in onto SIPPY DOWNS causing both SUGARS and SIPPY DOWNS to be checked off the heels of READY EDDIE, which jumped out.
RACE 5: DARRYL & LYN CAPEWELL BEAUREPAIRES & HOME SERVICE CENTRE OPEN H'CAP – 1200m
Both TOP SYMPHONY and LARABIA were slow to begin.
MARCELO shifted in at the start hampering both PRIDE PACK and SEYMOUR SUMMERS.
RACE 6: BLACK TOYOTA CHARLEVILLE CUP H’CAP – 2000m
MACROSTRIKE (NZ) was hampered at the start between MY TUDOR ROSE and OUTRANK both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 1000m, MACROSTRIKE was forced to ease off the heels of TOOT ‘N’ GO when that horse began to lose ground.
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
