QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSIONSTEWARDS REPORTCENTRAL WARREGO RACE CLUB TUESDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2018 WEATHER – FINE TRACK – GOOD (DIRT) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – Mr B. Cooke Stewards – Mr R. Hitchener Veterinarian – Dr B. Barker Starter – Mr R. King Judge – Club Representatives Clerk of Scales – Club Representatives Swab Official – Dr B. Barker General Stewards reconvened an inquiry into the reasons why LOTHBROK and BETTER OFFER fell at the 800m at Morven on 8 September 2018. After taking evidence from Jockey C. Rogers (the rider of LOTHBROOK) and Jockey J. Rudd (the rider of BETTER OFFER), stewards concluded that when racing keenly on the heels of runners racing in a forward position, BETTER OFFER clipped heels, blundered and fell. As a result, LOTHBROOK fell following a subsequent collision with the other fallen horse and jockey.
