QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CENTRAL WARREGO RACE CLUB – SATURDAY, 10 AUGUST 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD (DIRT) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – E. BarkerStarter – R.King GENERAL: Urine samples were taken from a number of riders at today’s meeting. Due to no riders being available, the following horses were declared late scratching at 12:00pm: MOTUEKA RIVER MOUNTAIN RETREATMOHAKA RIVER SCHIZMOLE BEAU RENARD RACE 1: KOKODA MAIDEN PLATE - 1000M GEM SETTER – Apprentice B. Mackie reported that the mare did not appreciate the kick back and was inclined to hang out throughout. Trainer W. Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the mare. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. GALSHADOW – Slow to begin. KEODOR – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in during the home straight. HE’Z TITILLATING – Raced wide without cover throughout. RACE 2: GALLIPOLI CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000M SARGE BRIGARDE – Began awkwardly. FOXY BELLA – Trainer W. Baker advised that as the mare did not appreciate the dirt racing surface, he also added that in his opinion is more suited to distances shorter than of today’s event. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. INVINCIBLE KING – Began awkwardly. Near the 900m raced with its head in the air for a short distance. Raced wide throughout. Stewards inquired as to the reasons why SARGE BRIGARDE and FOXY BELLA presented to the enclosure with the incorrect saddle cloths. Stewards took initial evidence from Apprentice A. Bakos, Apprentice B. Mackie, Trainer B. Johnson and Trainer W. Baker. After considering evidence tendered by; Apprentice A. Bakos rider of SARGE BRIGARDE was fined $100 under AR227(a) in that she was negligent by supplying the incorrect saddlecloth to trainer B. Johnson. Trainers B. Johnson and W. Baker were reprimanded under AR 227(a) in that they were negligent by presenting SARGE BRIGARDE and FOXY BELLE to the enclosure with the incorrect saddlecloths. After taking initial evidence from Apprentice B. Mackie in relation to the incorrect saddle cloth for FOXY BELLA being supplied to trainer W. Baker stewards adjourned the inquiry as apprentice B. Mackie had to be transported to hospital after the running of race 3. RACE 3: JIM PUGSLEY MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP- 1400M ROSOVER – Raced wide throughout. VIMSTINCTION- Raced wide throughout. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. MAGMELLOU – Raced wide throughout. TARWYN BLUE – Apprentice B. Mackie after being dislodged past the post, was assessed by QAS and transported to hospital as a precaution. Apprentice B. Mackie will be advised that a medical would be required prior to riding again. As a result of this incident, the start of race 4 was delayed. RACE 4: DIGGERS OPEN HANDICAP - 1200M REAL CONSERVE – Began awkwardly. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. TYCOON ZIP – Bumped on jumping away. Raced wide without cover until being allowed to stride forward to the lead near the 800m. SHADOW PRINCE – Tightened for room at the start. Raced wide throughout. RACE 5: VIETNAM VETERANS CLASS 3 PLATE- 1200M Stewards accepted to late rider declaration for TRAIL BUSTER (App. D. Graham). As apprentice B. Mackie was stood down and there was no other rider available THE CONSIGLIERE was declared a late scratching at 3:20pm VALPONS – Began awkwardly. EXCEED ALL ODDS – Began awkwardly and then shortly after was tightened for room and lost ground. Raced wide without cover throughout. TOCCO D’ORO – Bumped at the start.
