GENERAL
 
Apprentice D. McGillivray was reprimanded under AR.143(14)(a) for failing to claim his full allowance in races two and four. When assessing penalty stewards took into consideration Apprentice McGillivray’s guilty plea and exemplary record.
 
Race 1: CWRC MAIDEN PLATE – 800m
 
PLENTY OF WHITT – Slow into stride. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, Trainer C. Baker advised that in her opinion the gelding has improved in fitness since its last campaign and has been working well since returning from its most recent spell. Mrs Baker further added that a change in distance might also be a contributing factor todays seemingly improved performance. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
EDDIEGATO – Slow to begin. Upon returning to scale, Apprentice T. Townsend advised that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout.
 
ARATULA – Began awkwardly.
 
BABYLON EXPRESS – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2: ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1200m
 
PART THE SEA – Blundered at the start and lost ground.
 
FOXLEIGH – Began awkwardly making contact with the outside barrier petition.
 
AURIC GOLD - Began awkwardly. Raced with its head in the air for a short distance leaving the 1100m
 
ACHILLIES PRIDE – Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 1000m.
 
AUTHADANE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 3: LADIES RACEDAY OPEN PLATE – 1100m
 
MALIBU AFFAIR – Difficult to load.
 
CLASSIC WIND – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 900m.
 
SPLITZ – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHADOW PRINCE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 4: PRESIDENT'S CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000m
 
GOLDEN MOUNT – Began awkwardly.
 
THE SCOOP – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
GEISSLER – Fractious in barrier. Began awkwardly. Shifted out to obtain clear running at the 100m.
 
JABBS – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
GOLDEN STREET – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
