QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CENTRAL WARREGO RACE CLUB – 6TH JUNE 2020. WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SOFT RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Mr B. Cooke Stewards – Mr D. Kerwick Clerk of Scales – Mr D. Kerwick Judge – Mr B. Lines Veterinarian – Dr T. Birrer Swab Attendants – Dr T. Birrer Starter – Mr R. King Race 1: DJ'S PRODUCE MAIDEN PLATE – 1100m The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the connections of THE LAST DRAGON made application for the gelding to be declared a non-runner. After viewing the available patrol footage it became evident that the THE LAST DRAGON’S barrier failed to open at the same time as the remainder of the field resulting in the horse being disadvantaged. Stewards subsequently declared THE LAST DRAGON a non-runner and amended the placings accordingly. Due to no on course betting, no deductions were applicable. KELSEY LAKE – Began awkwardly. WEATHER MAN – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Stewards directed that the club undertake remedial work to the barriers prior to the running of the second event. Race 2:CATTLE CAMP HOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP – 800m COOL CHAOS – Began awkwardly. MOTUEKA RIVER – Apprentice K. Patch was fined $200 under AR.143 (14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance. Stewards permitted apprentice Patch to remain engaged on the gelding due to no other riders being available. Blundered at the start and lost ground. LENROY – Began awkwardly making contact with the inside barrier partition. Race 3: SWITCHED ON ELECTRICAL OPEN HANDICAP – 1000m MY COUSIN BOSSY – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. GENDEBIEN – Began awkwardly. TOCCO D’ORO – Jockey S. Sweedman was replaced by Jockey S. Mcgovern due to being overweight. Jockey Sweedman was subsequently fined $100 under AR.190(3). Held up approaching the 200m and as a result was forced to shift out across heels to obtain clear running. CLASSIC WIND – Slow to begin. Slow into stride. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. BRIDYN MAY – Began awkwardly. THE CONSIGLIERE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 4:CHARLEVILLE NEWSAGENCY CLASS 4 PLATE – 1000m The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the connections of IL BANDITO made application for the gelding to be declared a non-runner. After viewing the available patrol footage, stewards were of the opinion, that although IL BANDITO’S barrier was marginally slow to open, it was not detrimental to the horses start or performance. Stewards subsequently dismissed the application, declaring correct weight on the placings semaphored by the judge. Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 900m where TIGER LOVE (Apprentice D. McGillivray) shifted in placing runners to the inside in restricted room, forcing them to check and lose ground. Apprentice McGillivray was issued a severe reprimand for careless riding under AR.131(a). In determining penalty, stewards took into consideration Apprentice McGillivray’s inexperience, as an apprentice, as well as this would be his first offence under this rule. IL BANDITO – Forced to restrain off heels at the 900m when another runner to the outside shifted in. OAKFEILD GETTEM – Taken in at the 900m and was forced to restrain for a short distance when another runner to the outside shifted in. CHANCE OF RAIN – At a point approaching the 900m was forced to shift in across heels placing pressure on runners to the inside when TIGER LOVE shifted inwards. BLUES YOUR BALL – Bled both nostrils. Trainer L. Baker was advised that due to this being the second time that the horse has bled; it would be barred from racing indefinitely. MASTER OF THE TURF – Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 5: JONES SMASH REPAIRS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1200m GEISSLER – Dipped at the start and lost ground. TEYSSLIER – Began awkwardly. SEVENTY BELOW – Began awkwardly making contact with the outside barrier partition. LINKED – Steward will speak to Jockey C. Bryen in relation to him being permitted to ride one kilogram overweight. Raced in restricted room shortly after the start and lost ground. Race 6: RAHEEN STUD QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1600m SHADOW PRINCE – Refused to proceed to the barriers. Declared a late scratching at 3:35pm by order of the stewards. No deductions were applicable due to no on course betting. Trainer M. Johnstone was advised that the gelding would require a trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to retuning to racing. ACHILLES PRIDE – Reared at the start and lost ground.
