Race 2: SOUTH WEST FORD OPEN PLATE – 1000m
Stewards inquired into the circumstances surrounding Trainer M Kropp saddling and presenting the incorrect horse to the enclosure. Mr Kropp advised that he had made an error in that he had incorrectly formed the view that FOXLEIGH was his nominated runner for this event rather than SPLITZ and therefore presented FOXLEIGH, which was engaged in a later race at today’s meeting, rather than SPLITZ. Having considered the evidence Mr Kropp pleaded guilty to a charge under AR99(b) in that he saddled and incorrectly presented the wrong horse for this event. Mr Kropp was fined $400. In arriving at penalty stewards were mindful of Mr Kropp’s prior exemplary record in relation to this rule.
