QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CHARLEVILLE RACE CLUB CHARLEVILLE – SATURDAY 7 AUGUST 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD (DIRT) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T. Preston Stewards – P. Jenkins Clerk of Scales – Stewards Judge – Club Veterinarian – Dr. C. Scott Starter – R. KingPhoto Finish Operator- B. Lines SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT Race 2- The Trainer of RIPOVA Mr G Pegg advised Stewards that his horse was injured while being floated to the Race Meeting today. The Horse was vetted and found that it had a deep laceration above its left eye and not fit to race today. The horse was subsequently scratched by Stewards acting on Vet advice at 12:45pm. GENERAL Trainer P. Townsend was issued with a Reprimand by Stewards acting under LR 67 in relation to the late declaration of a rider in Race 2 of todays program. Stewards considered Mr Townsend comments and his excellent record when determining a penalty in relation to this matter. Race 1- PRESIDENTS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M GREAT BRAVE- rolled out under pressure over the final stages. MY CHIN- Lost ground when approaching the 800M. BEAN FORTUNATE- was slow to begin then shifted out abruptly and proved difficult for the rider to restrain. Trainer W Baker was advised by Stewards that due to the horse’s racing manners today, acting under AR 20 (e)a Warning would be placed on the Horse. Race 2- JIM PUGSLEY MEMORIAL QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1000M CHANCE OF RAIN was declared a Late Scratching by Stewards due to no rider being available. HALCYON DAYS- Rider reported that horse did not travel well at any stage today, advising it may not have been suited by the track and the kick back. Stewards noted Ms Steele’s explanation and took no further action. DIFFICULT- began awkwardly COOL CHAOS- began awkwardly and was bumped another runner shortly after the start. PLENTY OF WHITT- shifted out extremely wide to improve when entering the Home Turn. BRIGHT COPPER- was tightened for room between runners shortly after the start, it then became unbalanced and lost some ground. Trainer C. Smith reported to Stewards after the event the horse had cast a plate during the race. BOOM FIRE- bumped by another runner shortly after the start and became unbalanced, hung out for the majority of the event. Race 3- LES BAKER MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400M ADVERSARY- P. BRADFORD- raced wide from the 800m without cover for the remainder of the event. FORGED IN STONE- began awkwardly and bumped another runner shortly after the start. BOOMSHAKE THE ROOM- was hampered at the start. BUDDIE OLLIE- bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Shifted out slightly approaching the 1200m point. ITSALLKAY- jumped awkwardly LESLIE JAMES- raced wide without cover for most of the event. Race 4- NEVILLE GREEN MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP 1200M USURP- lost substantial ground leaving the 600m and continued to noticeably weaken over the final stages of the race. Stewards spoke with Rider J. Rudd who advised that the horse had failed to run well today. He could offer no explanation for the horse’s seemingly disappointing performance. The Gelding was subsequently examined post -race by the attending Veterinarian and no abnormalities were detected. Stewards will speak with Trainer C. Smith in coming days regarding the horse’s performance. OLD ROAD TOWN- was slow to begin and raced wide without cover from the 600m Race 5- BOOKMAKER BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1200M I CAN HERE MUSIC- began awkwardly and hampered another runner shortly after the start. The Gelding raced wide from the 400m without cover and laid in under pressure over the final stages of the event. R. Faehr reported to Stewards that his saddle had slipped when leaving the 800m point resulting in the horse not being competitive today. Stewards noted the explanation from Jockey Faehr and took no further action. LENROY- was bumped at the start by another runner and lost some ground. When approaching the 400m point the gelding improved onto heels and was checked by its rider. On entering the Home straight, it was disappointed for a run and failed to quicken as the race tempo increased. ALL ELLIE- Acting under AR 190 (3) Stewards fined Jockey B. Moffatt the sum of $200 for being .8 kgs overweight prior to the running of the event. Due to no other rider being available Jockey Moffatt was unable to be replaced. Therefore, Stewards allowed him to ride in this race. PART THE SEA- had to be steadied momentarily shortly after entering the home turn when hampered by another runner. WRITTEN GUARANTEE- laid in when under pressure over the final stages of the race. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees Reprimands Race 2- P.
