GENERAL
 
As Jockey P Randall was unable to fulfil his riding engagements due to injury, Stewards permitted rider changes as per Stewards race-day summary
 
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights when no other suitable rider was available:
Race 4- Jockey D. Graham + 1kg.
              Jockey R. Payne + 1kg.
 
 
The following runners were declared late scratching by order of Stewards when no riders were available:
 
At 12:30am – R3 – SQUATTER
                        R4 – LEIBERT LASS
                        R4 – MISTREY MISS
 
At 2:22pm – R3 – MARTY AWHA
                      R4 – ANANAGRAM (NZ)
 
 
Race 1: SUFFCON CLASS B HANDICAP 1000 M
 
MURPHY'S RIVER Began awkwardly.
 
DUSTINS Began awkwardly.
 
SUPER MIST Began awkwardly and was slow into stride.
 
RUBY DIAMOND Inconvenienced approaching the 50m.
 
MR DEMOLITION Approaching the 50m commenced to shift in under pressure and inconvenienced RUBY DIAMOND.  Jockey Ms R. Payne was reprimanded under AR131(a) as a result of this incident.
 
BOLD ADMIRAL The start was delayed when the cross-over noseband needed to be refitted at the barriers. Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly dislodging Jockey J. Rudd. QAS officers assessed Jockey Rudd under the QRIC concussion policy and he was transported to the Charleville Base Hospital for observation. Jockey Rudd was subsequently advised he would require a medical clearance and cognitive assessment prior to again being permitted to ride in a race. Trainer C Storch has been advised the Gelding will be required to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming racing.
 
 
Race 2: CARRIE WYATT AND BRAD LINES BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000 M
 
The start of the event was delayed considerably to allow for Jockey J Rudd to be treated and transported by QAS.
 
DALTORO Crowded for room soon after the start before commencing to hang in hampering another runner. Trainer J Patterson was advised the gelding would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
MISHANI OPERATORBroke through the front barrier gates and was quickly restrained by its rider after a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinarian examination and was cleared fit to start. Began awkwardly and laid in crowding another runner. Trainer S Iverson was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
KARBORS Blundered on jumping. Leaving the 200m hung out under pressure before being corrected by its rider.
 
COLHOUN Blundered on jumping.
 
LAYLAH'S WISHAs Jockey J Rudd was unable to fulfil his engagement due to injury and no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted App E Pomfrett to be substituted as rider of the mare. Began very awkwardly, shifted in abruptly on jumping and bumped the hind quarters of MISS HOFF. Trainer M Hill was advised a warning would be placed on the bares racing manners as a result.
 
MISS HOFF Bumped on jumping.
 
 
Race 3: BETTA ELECTRICAL MAIDEN PLATE 1100 M
 
NUTSO Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner.
 
METHIL Finished tailed off. A post Veterinary examination of the mare was completed, and no significant findings were detected. Connections were advised to report to the stewards if anything comes to light with the mare in the coming days.
 
AVOIDS Bumped on jumping.
 
 
Race 4: TONY FACEY MEMORIAL QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
The start was delayed significantly when KARARA LAD was fractious in the barrier requiring a veterinary examination and both BONNIE EV and ADDOCARR broke through the front barrier gates dislodging its rider and requiring a veterinary examination respectively.
 
 
KARARA LADFractious in barriers making heavy contact with the front gates and side petition. Underwent an immediate veterinary examination and was deemed unfit to race and was subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 3:50pm.
 
BONNIE EV Broke through barrier gates and dislodged Jockey C. Rodgers. QAS officers assessed Jockey C. Rodgers under the QRIC concussion policy. Jockey Rogers was transported to Charleville Base Hospital for treatment. As Jockey C Rogers was unable to fulfil her engagement due to injury and their being no suitable replacement rider the mare was declared a late scratching at 3:50pm.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on both runners were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to be applied to all successful wagers placed prior to 3:50pm:
 
30 cents in the dollar for the win
26 cents in the dollar for the place
 
 
Trainer S Iverson was advised that KARARA LAD would require a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
Following this incident all runners were returned to the mounting yard whilst QAS attended to and arranged transport for Jockey Rogers to Charleville Base Hospital. At this time all runners underwent a veterinary examination with MAHA MUSTANG being declared a late scratching at 4:05pm acting on veterinary advise after escaping from the clerk on returning to the mounting yard and contacting the out-side running rail. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to be applied to all successful wagers placed prior to 4:05pm:
 
8cents in the dollar for the win
8cents in the dollar for the place.
 
Trainer R Forbes was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
When all runners were returned to the mounting yard an inspection of the front barrier gates was conducted and barrier six (6) was found to be malfunctioning. Consequently, that barrier was not be used for the remainder of the meeting.
 
 
 
ADDOCARR Fell and dislodged App P Carter near the 800m. An immediate veterinarian examination revealed irreparable injuries to the off-side shoulder and knee. The Gelding was subsequently euthanized on humane grounds with post-mortem samples being taken for analysis. QAS officers assessed App P. Carter and subsequently transported her to Charleville Base Hospital for further treatment.
 
GAZZMAN Slow to begin. Brushed by another runner when leaving barriers.
 
IKIGAI STARFell and dislodged Jockey B Newport near the 800m. An immediate veterinarian examination revealed irreparable injurie to the upper nearside foreleg. The Gelding was subsequently euthanized on humane grounds with post-mortem samples being taken for analysis. QAS officers assessed Jockey Newport and subsequently transported him to Charleville Base Hospital for further treatment.
 
 
Stewards intend to inquire in the cause/s of App Carter and Jockey Newport being dislodged and their mounts falling.
 
 
 
Following the running of the event the Stewards consulted with the riding group and club officials. After being advised by QAS of expected considerable delays in treating and transporting the injured riders as well as the remedial works required on a section of the inside course proper running rail, which was damaged as a result of the fall, the decision was made to abandon the remainder of the meeting.
