JORJA’S JET – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SAM DE HERO – Raced wide without cover from the 800m.

RACE 2: SLATERS RODD SERVICES CLASS B H’CAP – 1200M

SARGOOD LANE – Slow to begin. Tightened for room and checked near the 800m when FROM ST ANDREWS (App. B. Nothdurft) was forced inwards by MISS RALPHIE (App. S. Palmer), which shifted ground when not sufficiently clear. Apprentice S. Palmer was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR.137(a), and his license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, commencing midnight 5/11/16 and to expire midnight 13/11/16. When questioned regarding the performance of SARGOOD LANE, which was below market expectations, apprentice N. Morton stated that after being checked near the 800m, the mare dropped the bit and was under pressure from that point and proved disappointing.

FROM ST ANDREWS – Raced in restricted room near the 800m. Bumped with another runner near the 150m.

MISS RALPHIE - Bumped with another runner near the 150m. Apprentice S. Palmer reported at scale that he dropped his whip near the 300m.

LEADING STORY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

ALL APPLES – When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer P. Sexton reported that the mare was having her first start following a spell and had matured since her previous run. He added that she had jumped out well in the lead up to today’s event, and he was confident of a forward showing.

RACE 3: MCDONALDS CHINCHILLA OPEN H’CAP – 1030M

THINKHESAURUS – Began awkwardly with its head in the air.

RACE 4: BARB SEXTON MEMORIAL QTIS 3YO & UP MAIDEN PLATE – 1030M

HUSSON’S GIRL – Began awkwardly making contact with the barriers, shifted out and lost ground.

A STELLAR CAUSE – Tightened for room shortly after the start.

MAC’S BOY - Tightened for room shortly after the start. Overraced when being restrained from heels near the 800m.

THE PAST – Bumped by another runner at the start. Tightened for room shortly after the start.

THE SPIRIT OF JAZZ – Bumped another runner at the start.

THAT’S HER I THINK – Overraced in the early stages.

SIR BAM – Bumped by another runner rounding the home turn and momentarily unbalanced.

NOTHIN’ ZAPPENIN’ – Hung out rounding the home turn, bumped another runner and became unbalanced.

THING OF BEAUTY – Raced wide throughout. Returned to the mounting yard with blood in one nostril. Apprentice L. Tilley reported the filly struck its head on the barriers at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the blood to be a result of trauma, and not an official bleeder.

RACE 5: WDC BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1030M

On returning to scale N. Evans, rider of second placegetter ALL IN ALL, lodged an objections against DARLING BE GOOD (App. H. English) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards established that DARLING BE GOOD did shift in abruptly near the 200m, at the same time as ALL IN ALL shifted out slightly, and then shifted in away from ALL IN ALL. Given that there was no contact between the runners and N. Evans did not stop riding his mount out, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that this incident warranted a reversal of the judge’s placings and dismissed the objection, declaring correct weight on the semaphored numbers.

I GOT TRIX – L. Attard was permitted to ride 1kg overweight, as no suitable senior riders were available. Jockey Attard was fined $100.

SERAPHIMS – Slow to begin.

CHILLDOWN – Raced wide throughout.

MACGYVER – Raced wide throughout.
