QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT.CHINCHILLA RACE CLUB 16 DECEMBER 2017. Weather- Fine Rail-True Track-Good 3 Officials-Chairmen of Stewards- L. CarvossoStewards- E. HodgesClerk of Scales- StewardsVeterinarian- Dr. C PowellStarter- I. HendersonJudge- ClubBetting Steward- Stewards SUPPLIMENTARY REPORT- RACE 1: CARLTON H’CAP BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP 1200M- THE ROBBER- Raced wide throughout without cover. BOLD MOVE- Eased slightly on the home turn when another runner shifted out. HIZOU- On returning to scale Jockey B Derbyshire reported to Stewards that despite her continued efforts to restrain, the gelding over raced during the early and middle stages and as a result set a faster tempo in the race then she had anticipated. NOOR DROPPER- Apprentice S Barlow explained to Stewards that due to the fast early tempo she was forced to ride the mare slightly further back in the field then she had anticipated. Shifted out abruptly to secure clear running rounding the home turn. Apprentice Barlow was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. RACE 2: GIOVENCO H’CAP CLASS B 1030M- KINGSMITH FLYER- Bucked during the preliminary. Raced greenly in the home straight. A Post race inspection revealed the gelding to have a small laceration to its off hind leg. CRAIGLEA SIMMO- Slow to begin. ARCTIC CIRCLE- Slow into stride. HARVEY DENT- Made the home turn very wide. HIDDEN ANGEL- Stewards questioned Trainer N O’Toole in relation to the improved performance of the mare. Mr O’Toole advised that he was disappointed in the mares performance last start at Bundaberg as he thought the horse could win on that occasion and supported the mare in the betting ring accordingly. Mr O’Toole added that in light of that performance he did not wager on the mare in today’s event and was surprised she was successful today, as he could offer no explanation for the improved performance.RACE 3: PROCREN OPEN B H’CAP 1030 M ROBERT’S COMMAND- Raced wide without cover throughout. FINAL HOPE- Raced wide in the early stages and laid in in the home straight. HIDDEN DUCK- Made the home turn wide. SQUEEMI- Attempted to buck in the early stages and laid out over the concluding stages. OL’ BROWN EYES- Held up and unable to improve between the 600m and the 400m. BAKER BOY- Laid in onto the heels of another runner over the final 50m. RACE 4: CALTEX STARMART CHINCHILLA BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP 1400M SAN SEVERO- Shifted in on jumping away. PARELEMA- Tightened for room at the start. MR METICULOUS- Began awkwardly. Shifted in abruptly shortly after the start making heavy contact with another runner. Raced in restricted room near the 1200m. LUCKS IN- Bumped heavily shortly after the start. Raced in restricted room near the 1200m. MENDELSSOHN- Slow into stride. RACE 5: BLACK TOYOTA CHINCHILLA CUP OPEN HCAP 1400M BENICO’S PRINCE- Slow to begin. LEGS UNBARRED- Began awkwardly. GUD ONYA- Slow to begin and then hampered further when bumped by another runner. FABS COWBOY- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Stewards questioned App. A Thompson in relation the seemingly disappointing performance. App. Thompson advised that the gelding travelled well during the event, however when placed under pressure it failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. App. Thompson added that the gelding may not have backed up from its last start win 7 days prior. RACE 6: PATRONS MAIDEN PLATE 1400M JAREL’S DRAGON- At the request of Jockey M O’Brien the mare was examined by the club Vet on arrival at the barriers as jockey O’Brien was concerned with the mares action during the preliminary. Following the examination the mare was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 4.52pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on JAREL’S DRAGON be refunded with the following deductions to apply- 1st- 2 cents the win, 7 cents the place.2nd- 4 cents the place.3rd- 6 cents the place. A Veterinary Clearance with be required for JAREL’S DRAGON prior to it next racing. MY RUBY ROSE- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. SIR TITANITE- Hampered at the start. ELDARION- Hampered at the start. ASCOT BOUND- Hampered at the start. SUMMARY OF ACTIONS LICENSEES- Nil SUMMARY OF ACTIONS CONCERNING HORSES- LATE SCRATCHING- Race 6- Jarel’s Dragon- Vets advice at 4.52pm.SWABS- All winners
