Said General Prior to the running of race one stewards assessed and expressed concerns with a section of the track at the 200m that had undergone work prior to the meeting. After taking the opinions of senior riders, stewards were satisfied that the track was safe for racing. Scratching’s and rider changes as per stewards summary. RACE 1: CRITCH AUTOMOTIVE GROUP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1030m GO DIAMONDS – Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 9:37am. Trainer D. Vandyke was fined $100 under AR.114 for failing to scratch by the prescribed time. NABOOMBU – Raced with its head in the air during the early and middle stages. ALL ABOUT MARY – Began awkwardly making contact with the inside barrier partition. YESTERDAY’S MONEY – Raced in restricted room at the 900m. I’M SASSY – Slow to begin. SPARMAN – Tightened for room and was forced to ease at the 900m when another runner shifted in. Raced four wide without cover from the 850m. MY HAPPY PLACE – Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner to the outside. SASIA – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner to the inside. Shifted in at the 900m placing runners to the inside in restricted room. Jockey J. Hoopert was reminded of his obligations to allow sufficient room for runners to his inside. SUPERVISOR – Raced three wide without cover throughout. NORTHERN DREAMS – Raced four wide without cover throughout. RACE 2: TYREPOWER CHINCHILLA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1030m MISTER JUDGE – Slow to begin. EXCEED ALL ODDS – Raced four wide without cover throughout. SCRIVANO – Began awkwardly. TAPESTRY VISION – Placed in restricted room at the 900m. Raced four wide with cover throughout. NORTHERN DREAMS - Raced four wide without cover throughout. RACE 3: DOMINOS CHINCHILLA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1200m MIGHTY ROLLER - Laid out under pressure in the early stages. Inclined to hang out rounding the 800m turn. ROYAL BOUQUET – Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 800m. SEA PRAISE – Steadied from heels at the 1100m. I’M FAVULOUS – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running at the 800m. SCENT OF A WOMAN – Began awkwardly. EREBOR – Began awkwardly. BOWIES BAYCONI – Began awkwardly. SPARKLING GIFT – Raced wide without cover throughout SOLID ASSET – Laid out under pressure in the early stages. RACE 4: CLUB HOTEL CHINCHILLA CLASS B HANDICAP – 1400m VALPONS – Bumped by another runner to the outside upon jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout. ELDARION – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the inside. MAKE NO MISTAKE – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. MARQUANT – Raced wide without cover throughout. RACE 5: SLATERS ROAD SERVICES OPEN HANDICAP – 1400m Following the running of race four Apprentice N. Morton was assessed and stood down by the Queensland ambulance service. Apprentice Morton was advised she would require a medical certificate prior to returning to race riding. MOHAKA RIVER – Following Apprentice N. Morton being stood down and after exceeding to a request from trainer W. Baker, Jockey C. Bryen was permitted to ride five kilograms overweight due to no other rider being available. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey C. Bryen advised that in his opinion the pace was too fast for the horse in the early stages of today’s event. He added that when rounding the home turn, the pace weakened and he was able to make up ground quickly. He further added that in his opinion the gelding would be more suited to a longer distance. I DO CARE – Began awkwardly making contact with the inside barrier partition. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. BLUE JEST – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. JUST AS LOYAL – Began awkwardly. REGAL CONSERVE – Raced wide with cover throughout. BOWIE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
