Race 1: VANDERFIELD CHINCHILLA CLASS B H’CAP – 1030M
 
 
BACK UP BILLY- Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 1:43pm after breaking through the barriers and galloping a considerable distance riderless. Stewards in only issuing a warning against the gelding were mindful of the mitigating circumstances around the time taken to load the field into the barriers.
 
Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on BACK UP BILLY be refunded with the following deductions to apply-
 
1st- 3cents the win 11cents the place
2nd-9 cents the place
3rd-10cents the place
 
INVINCIBLE KING- Stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. In only issuing a warning against the gelding Stewards were mindful of the mitigating circumstances around the time taken to load the field into the barriers.
 
DIVINE MISS BOOM- Jockey G Geran was fined $100 for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty Stewards were mindful of Jockey Geran’s good recent record in relation to this rule.
 
HEY DOLL- Fractious in barriers. In this incident jockey J Misson reported he suffered some discomfort with his right foot, however was fit to continue riding.
 
 
 
 
Race 2: CRAIG BLACK PATRON BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1200M
 
ROSOVER- App. D Graham was fined $200 for returning to scale in excess of 1/2kg overweight. In assessing penalty Stewards were mindful of Apprentice Graham’s recent good record since returning to riding and further the prevailing hot weather conditions at today’s meeting. App. Graham reported her mount was reluctant to stretch out in the kickback when racing in a rearward position in the early stages.
 
GOLOVKIN- Hung out rounding the home turn and shifted wider on the track in the home straight.
 
Race 3: HARDCORE HIRE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
TERMINAL- Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
 
COMPLETE TRUST- Made the home turn wide.
 
 
Race 4: CHINCHILLA CAR WASH BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1400M
 
RULERS PRIDE- Slow to begin and settled further back in the field than anticipated. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
BY THE LAW- Bumped on jumping.
 
DANISH DICTION- Trailed the field throughout the event. A post race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
OUR GRACIOUS DANE- Began awkwardly.
 
 
BRADY ‘N’ ME- Raced wide.
 
AKLAVIK- Jockey N Morton was fined $100 for use of the whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty Stewards were mindful of Jockey Morton’s prior good record in relation to this rule.
 
Race 5: PROCREW CHINCHILLA CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1400M
 
ARTIE’S SHORE- Declared a non-runner following a request from App. D Graham to review the start. Upon review of the available footage it was determined that the gelding’s barrier was slow to open, thus denying it a fair start. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on ARTIE’S SHORE be refunded with the following deductions to apply-
 
1st- 0cents the win 7cents the place
2nd-6 cents the place
3rd-9cents the place
 
A post-race Veterinary examination of ARTIE’S SHORE revealed the presence of blood in both nostrils. As the Vet was satisfied the presence of blood was attributed to external trauma as a result of making heavy contract with the barriers, no further action was taken.
 
PORTION CONTROL- Slow to begin.
 
RITCHFORD- Raced wide throughout. Rider reported the gelding raced flat today and in his opinion was disappointing.
 
GUD ONYA- Raced wide throughout.
