QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CHINCHILLA RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 6TH JUNE 2020 WEATHER – FINETRACK RATING – GOOD 3RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R. HitchenerStewards – B. McErleanClerk of Scales – B. McErleanJudge – J. MoodyVeterinarian – Dr. C PowellStarter – I. Henderson GENERAL Race 1: RATINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP – 1030m Start was delayed due to the late arrival of the vet and ambulance. APPLAUSE A STAR- Began awkwardly. RUN PAM RUN- Slow to begin. MOMENTUM GLORY- Tightened for room and checked near the 50m when STRIVE TO SUCCEED shifted in when not clear. At a subsequent inquiry, App. I Teh the rider of STRIVE TO SUCCEED pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR 131(a) for permitting her mount to shift in causing interference at that point. App. Teh’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight 6.6.20 and to expire at midnight 13.6.20. In considering penalty Stewards took into account this was Apprentice Teh’s first careless riding offence in her career. Race 2: QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m As Wayne O’Connell was ill and not riding at the meeting, S. Lacy was the replacement rider for MISS ATOB. Jockey O’Connell was advised he would require a medical certificate prior to next riding. DREAM OF FRANCE – Trainer S. Rodgers was fined $100 for failing to produce the thoroughbred ID card. DREAM OF FRANCE- Hung in for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride out in the straight. FEELING THORNY- Hung in for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride out in the straight. DIAL- Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority. Race 3: CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m PULLA SWIFTY- Refused to load and was declared a late scratching by order of stewards 12:13pm. As there was no betting conducted on this meeting no deductions were required. Trainer S. Sixtus was advised the mare would require further barrier certificate prior to next racing. Ms Sixtus advised that she would now consider retiring the mare. No racing incidents Race 4: OPEN HANDICAP – 1200m TRIAGE- As G. Steele was overweight she was replaced by H. Richardson. Jockey Steele was reprimanded for accepting a ride whilst overweight. When considering penalty stewards took into account Jockey Steele’s good record in relation to this rule. JEMADAR- Steadied whilst racing in restricted room near the 1000m. LAST ARMAGEDDON- Over raced during the early and middle stages. Race 5: BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400m RESONARE- Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. In this incident jockey Yoshida reported he momentarily lost the use of his near side iron. VERMUTIN- Began awkwardly and shifted in making contact with another runner. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. BALIUS- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. THIRD MARTINI- Began awkwardly and shifted out. FOXLEIGH- Raced wide throughout. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees Suspensions Race 1- I.Teh. Careless riding.
