GENERAL
 
Jockey G. Steele was absent from todays meeting due to illness. Stewards advised Jockey Steele that she would require a medical certificate prior to returning to racing. Replacements as per stewards summary.
 
Race 1:PARKER SIMMONDS SOLICITORS & LAWYERS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1030m
 
CATHVALANNA – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
 
ALLENA – Bumped by another runner upon jumping.
 
CHABBIE – Raced wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
STRIVE TO SUCCEED – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 2:VANDERFIELD COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP -1030m
 
TAPA – Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, connections advised that the mare failed to handle the track conditions at its previous start and in their opinion was more suited to todays event. Stewards noted the explanation. 
 
HE’S A MORAL – Blundered upon jumping.
BEST GUESS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 3:GREEN ACRES HYDROMULCHING CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m  
 
TEZZA – Hung out throughout proving difficult to ride out over the concluding stages. Trainer D. Talbot was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding.
 
SHERPA JACK – Began awkwardly.
 
MASSIE WHISPER – Began awkwardly.
 
TORI TORONADO – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
 
Race 4:ELDERS CHINCHILLA & MILES MAIDEN PLATE – 1400m
 
KRAKAN COVE – Fractious in barriers. Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout the middle stages.
 
FROM THE GONG – Steadied from heels approaching the 100m when SIRATRO shifted in. Apprentice A. Jones the rider of SIRATRO was issued a reprimand under AR.131(a) for careless riding.
 
BIG GEE – Upon returning to scale, Jockey S. Lacy advised that her mount resented the kick back throughout the middle stages and as a result failed to travel over the concluding stages.
 
No further racing incidents.
 
 
Race 5:BRANDON & ASSOCIATES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1400m
 
The start of this event was delayed when QUART POT refused to load and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4:03pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in QUART POT be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
16 cents in the dollar for the win - #2
18 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #2
19 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #6
 
Trainer D. Baker was advised the mare would require a barrier certificate prior to returning to racing. 
 
SUPERVISOR – Hung out rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the homes straight.
 
APITHANOS – Began awkwardly. Over raced for a short distance approaching the 800m.
 
COURT RULES – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 6:COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUAIFIER SLATERS ROAD SERVICES OPEN QUALITY HANDICAP – 1400m
 
MR TICKETS – Slow to begin.
 
SILENT FLYER – Knuckled upon jumping. Placed in restricted room by RITCHFORD at the 1200m making contact with another runner to the inside.
 
JOCHBERG – Bumped by another runner to the outside at the 1200m.
 
RITCHFORD – Approaching the 1200m, was placed in restricted room, steadied from heels, and was forced inwards, making contact with another runner to the inside when THE IRONS shifted in. Jockey B. Newport, the rider of THE IRONS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that at a point approaching the 1200m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of RITCHFORD, forcing that runner into restricted room and as a result made heavy contact with another runner to the inside. Jockey Newport’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 day to commence midnight 12 November 2020 and to conclude midnight 21 November 2020. Jockey Newport was advised of his right to an internal review.
 
THE IRONS – Began awkwardly bumping another runner to the outside.
 
HANOVER SQUARE – Bumped by another runner upon jumping.
