QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CHINCHILLA RACE CLUB CHINCHILLA- SATURDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2021 WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK RATING – GOOD 3 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T. Moody Race 1: TWO PEGGS MAIDEN PLATE 1030 Metres ANTONIO - Jumped with its head in the air. Laid out under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Stewards spoke with Jockey H. Richardson regarding the horse’s performance today. H. Richardson advised that the horse began okay and travelled well, but it tended to weaken badly over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. BLINDSIDE - Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. SIR SLEW - Was bumped heavily by another runner shortly after the start. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. SUNSOUTGUNSOUT - Failed to go the early speed and tailed off. Raced wide from the 600m. On returning to scales Jockey G. Steele advised Stewards that shifted out to avoid the dust and kickback and that it raced greenly throughout. COLLECTION - Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start jumped in and made heavy contact with MARYLEE. Inclined to lay in throughout the early stages. MARYLEE - Began awkwardly, Bumped by another runner on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination identified the mare to have bled from both nostrils. Stewards advised Trainer G. Dempsey that the horse will be barred from racing for a period of three months and must completed a satisfactory 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to racing. PAST PRICE - Travelled wide for the majority of the event. On returning to scales Jockey B. Newport advised Stewards his mount had hung out for the majority. Trainer S. Kirkwood advised Stewards on the 8th of November that the Mare had pulled up sore on the near front foot. He stated that the hardness of the track may have contributed to the mare’s performance on race day. Stewards accepted Mr Kirkwood’s explanation and was advised that a warning has been placed on the horse. SECRET SUSHI- Began awkwardly making contact with another runner and as a result lost ground. Race 2: SLATERS ROAD SERVICES COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1030 Metres Stewards will inquire into an incident from the 100m point at a date to be determined. PIRACY- Bumped by another runner shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Laid out marginally at the 600m turn. Crowded for room leaving the 200m when PATENTED laid in. HANDOVER SQUARE- Began awkward and lost ground. Tightened for room shortly after the start when another runner to the outside shifted in. PATENTED- Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Leaving the 200m point lay in resulting PIRACY being crowded for room for a short distance. VOULAIT - Shortly after the start shifted in tightening another runner on the inside. Leaving the 600m point shifted out bumped another runner. As a result, the rider of DIGGITY had to check and take hold. Raced in restricted room for a short distance from the 100m. TROMMELSCHLAGEN - Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 1.42pm due to Trainer J. Patterson having mechanical/ transport difficulties. WAIT A MINUTE- Began awkwardly and lost ground. DIGGITY- When approaching the 600m point the rider had to take hold of her mount after bumping VOULAIT. SILENT FLYER- Laid out under pressure over the final stages. MUSIC SCENE- Began awkwardly and as a result, bumped another runner shortly after the start. VICEMAN – Disappointed for a run and was forced to restrain leaving the 100m. MY BEST EFFORT- Raced wide without cover throughout the middle stages. NINDAMOS – Raced wide with cover during the middle stages of the event. ALLENA- Began awkwardly bumping PIRACY on the hindquarters. Race 3: CHINCHILLA RSL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 Metres PALACIO MUSICO- Tightened for room between runners shortly after the start and lost ground. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey H. Richardson advised that after beginning poorly, the horse settle further back than anticipated and as a result resented the kick back throughout. Stewards noted Jockey Richardson’s comments. HARRYS ME BOY- Apprentice Jockey J. Molloy was fined $600 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m point. That being none (9) occasions, four (4) more than permitted. UNITARY- Raced wide without cover during the early- middle stages of the event. MISHANI PHAROAH- Jumped out shortly after the start and bumped another runner. OUT BOY BORRIS- Jumped in at the start and bumped another runner. Apprentice Jockey S. Champkin was fined $300 AR132(7)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m point. That being eight (8) occasions, three (3) more than permitted. FLYING KASS -Fractious in the barriers before the start. Race 4: VANDERFIELD QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1400 Metres DAULAT ULTI MAIORA - Shifted out abruptly from the 600m point. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. On returning to scale Jockey H. Phillips advised Stewards that her saddle had slipped during the early stages of the event resulting in her having limited control of her mount and from that point. Stewards noted her comments. MUMS MY ANGEL- Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. ROCK EASY- Approaching the 100m, when attempting a narrow run, was forced to restrain and made heavy contact with the running rail. Stewards will speak to Apprentice Molloy in relation to the incident and refer the matter to the training department. BOND GIRL- Slow to begin. CHILL PILLS- Slow to begin. ZARAGIGI- Began awkwardly STEELE CHANCE- Bumped another runner shortly after the start. Race 5: ALL ENERGY CONTRACTING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400 Metres KIPCHOGE- Travelled three wide without cover during the early to middle stages. FEND OFF- On returning to scale Jockey G. Steele advised that it was her intention to lead however once settling further back her mount failed to respond and as a result proved disappointing. MONT MONT- Hung in for the majority of the event. ABB ROY – As apprentice J. Molloy was unable to claim his full allowance he was subsequently replaced as per the stewards summary. As a result Apprentice Molloy was fined $100 under AR143(13)(a). RUBY RUSH- Slow to begin. GREY FALCON- Slow to begin. Shifted in shortly after the start and lost ground. Tailed the field from the 1200m. Raced wide throughout. On returning to scale Apprentice Z. Sprie advised Stewards the horse was not suited to the conditions of todays event and did appear to resent the kickback.
