WEATHER: FINE TRACK RATING- GOOD 3: Upgraded to a Firm 2 following Race 2 RAIL: TRUE

GENERAL

After the running of Race 2 the track rating was upgraded to a Firm 2 by Stewards.

Race 1: BOODLES CONCRETE MAIDEN PLATE (1030m)

ALL HELL – Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

REDVEDEV – Over-raced during the early middle stages of the event. Approaching the 100m, obliged to shift to the inside of heels to obtain clear running.

THREE MORE WISHES – Began awkwardly before being hampered between runners and obliged to steady.

TORRENTIAL – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event.

I SURVIVED – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

REOJOAN – Bumped on jumping. On returning to scale, Apprentice T. Leslight reported the mare was inclined to hang-out throughout the event.

PRINCESS BEAN – Hampered between runners on jumping.


RACE 2: KEATINGS FUNERAL RATING BAND O-55 HANDICAP (1030m)


Correct weight was delayed allowing Stewards to view the photo for first and second positions. Upon viewing, Stewards were of the opinion that the numbers semaphored by the Judges for first and second positions were incorrect. The results were amended by Stewards acting under the provision of AR214(4)(b) to reflect EASY COME as the winner and VALAR DOHAERIS placed second. Once connections were satisfied with the photo finish, correct weight was declared on the Judges’ semaphored numbers.

VICEMAN – On returning to scale, Jockey H. Phillips reported to stewards that her saddle had slipped at approximately the 600m point resulting in her being able to fully test her mount out from that point.

BOSS BANDIT – Began awkwardly. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority.

EASY COME – Hung-out for the majority of the even despite the efforts of its rider. Apprentice T. Noble dismounted following the running of the event due to expressing concerns with the action of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg with a suspected tendon injury. Trainer G. Barbiereto was advised a full veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again. Trainer G. Barbiereto undertook to follow up with Stewards in the coming days.

TRUE TALLY – Slow to begin. On returning to scales, Apprentice E. Pomfrett reported to stewards that her mount pulled up sore after the run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer M. Bailey was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.


Race 3:SPECIALITY SERVICES QLD COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP (1030m)

DYNAMIC VERSE – Slow into stride. Tailed the field throughout. Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

ELUSIVE EAGLE – Bumped on jumping.

HARD LANDING – Approaching the 400m, shifted out erratically despite the efforts of its rider.

DOLLOP – Dipped on jumping before bumping with ELUSIVE EAGLE.

IN’HINCHABLE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Approaching the 400m, obliged to steady when HARD LANDING shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.

FLANK SPEED – Bumped on jumping.

Race 4: CHINCHILLA ROTARY IAN & JOYCE CLARKE MEMORIAL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP (1200m)

Correct weight was delayed allowing Jockey A. Sewell and Trainer B. Gorman’s stable representative to view footage of the start, Once satisfied that the mare’s poor start was directly attributable to the mare’s barrier manners, correct weight was declared on the Judges’ semaphored numbers.

FITZROY BOY – Laid out rounding the home-turn before shifting abruptly carrying LICENCED AND READY wider. Apprentice S. McCann was advised to exercise greater care.

FINESSE TESS – Approaching the 200m obliged to shift to the inside of BARCLAY’S BANK which was laying out to obtain clear running.

SETHLANS – Began awkwardly.

BARCLAY’S BANK – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

SIP IT SLOW – Began very awkwardly and failed to muster early speed.

THREE STRIPES – Slow to begin.

THE DARK – Failed to muster sufficient speed in the early stages and tailed the field throughout. Jockey S. Apthorpe stated the gelding proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr W Baker advised Stewards the gelding may be retired from racing in the near future.

LICENCED AND READY – Carried wider rounding the home-turn when FITZROY BOY laid-out abruptly rounding the home-turn.


Race 5: CHINCHILLA RSL CLASS B HANDICAP (1400m)

SUPER DUCK – Began very awkwardly before shifting out abruptly and hampering TERMITE onto INHISTIME. Apprentice E. Pomfrett was advised to exercise far greater care and attempt to stop and straighten her mounts.

JATOBI – Began awkwardly.

TERMITE – Hampered after jumping when SUPER DUCK shifted out abruptly and bumped with INHISTIME.

D’ORO HEARTS – Raced keenly when crossed in the earl stages. Apprentice S. McCann was fined $200 under AR190(3) for returning to scale in excess of 1kg over the allocated weight.

INHISTIME – Hampered severely between runners shortly after the start. Jockey H. Phillips reported her saddle slipped in the early stages of the event placing her at a disadvantage throughout the event.

PICCOLO NIKKI – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Jockey A. Sewell reported that the mare was inclined to hang-out throughout the event.
