GENERAL

Stewards permitted Jky N Fazackerley to ride in Races 2 and 3 at + .5kg overweight.

Race 1: LITTLE TRICKY’S CLEANING MAIDEN PLATE 1070m

CACTUS CAN- Began awkwardly when jumping out at the start, raced at the rear of the field for the majority, improved into the race after entering the home turn running on strongly over the concluding stages of the event. Appr Jky M Goring reported to stewards the horse hung in for the majority of the event. Stewards noted his comments.

DESTINY GUNGHO- Laid in when racing over the final stages in the home straight.

OUR ENDEVOUR- Stewards ordered a pre-race veterinary examination to be undertaken due to a previous veterinary procedure being undertaken. The Gelding was subsequently passed fit to start. Began well and raced in a forward position for some distance began to weaken in the home straight finishing at the rear of the field.

SAPANA’S PEARL- Slow into stride, raced wide for the majority of the event.

GREAT ANGLES- Slow to begin, raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. Improved into the race from the 300m point and ran on well over the final stages of the event.

Race 2: ROCKY CREEK BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1070M

BOSTON CITY- Stewards acting under the provision of LR67(1) issued a $100 fine to Trainer Mr G Richardson for his failure to declare a rider by the prescribed time.

MR EVANS- Began awkwardly.

FROZEN MISS- On returning to the mounting yard the Mare was found to be bleeding from mouth. A subsequent Vet examination revealed a slight hemorrhage from the lower right incisor. Stewards contracted Trainer Mr. P Randall who advised that the tooth had come out in the tie up stalls after the veterinary examination and had pulled up well post-race. No further action was required.

VANCOUVER QUEEN- Began awkwardly making heavy contact with the near side barrier partition and then shortly after the start made heavy contact with CRAIGLEA MERIDA, resulting in VANCOUVER QUEEN losing substantial ground and racing at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.

RED HOT RUBIX- Began awkwardly and then bumped heavily with INESSA after the start. Laid in the home straight for some distance before being corrected by the rider.

TAKEMEOUTBACK- Competitive for the majority of the event, began to weaken from the 300m point racing at the rear of the field over the concluding stages of the event.

CRAIGLEA MERIDA- Bumped heavily by VANCOUVER QUEEN shortly after the start, then dipped slightly shortly after the start.

INESSA- Bumped heavily as the start was affected with RED HOT RUBIX and as a result lost significant ground racing at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.

FLY LIKE HELEN- On returning to the mounting yard the mare was found to have bled during the run. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed FLY LIKE HELEN had a bilateral bleed from both nostrils and Stewards acting under the provision of AR79(4)(b) placed a mandatory three month ban on the mare. Stewards to notify Trainer Mr. B Gorman as soon as practical.

READY TO MINGLE- Began awkwardly. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.

EASY COME- Laid in when racing during the early stages of the event before being corrected by the rider. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 3: SHERATON GROUP SERVICES BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200m

HOLIDAY DREAM- Bumped with another runner at the start. Then rolled out marginally resulting in ZIN ZAN READY being tightened for room after the start. Stewards acting under the provision of LR67(1) issued a fine of $100 to Trainer Mr R Hay for his late declaration of a rider by the prescribed time.

VAST KAMA- Began awkwardly then rolled in tightening another runner to the outside, resulting in that runner being inconvenienced.

GIDGET- Appr Jky M Goring reported to Stewards on returning to scale that his saddle had slipped approximately the 1000m point and as a result proved difficult for him to ride competitively. He was able to obtain a forward position during the early to mid-stages but was unable to fully control or test his mount out for the final stages of the event and subsequently ran at the rear of the field . Due to Appr Jky M Goring’s comments and the below market performance of the Mare, Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

BEAU’S GIRL- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event, failed to improve into the race despite the best efforts of the rider. Rider reported to Stewards that in his opinion the mare was suited by the hard surface today and may be looking for further.

ZIN ZAN READY- Bumped by HOLIDAY DREAM shortly after the start was affected and then was squeezed out shortly after the start between runners when VAST KAMA rolled in and HOLIDAY DREAMS rolled out. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Finished strongly over the final stages of the event.

Race 4: WESTERN DOWNS CIVIL CHINCHILLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400m

MENINDEE- On returning to scale Appr Jky A Graham advised that her horse appeared to be lame in its action. She stated that when she urged her mount to press forward at the 400m the gelding’s action was not right. A post-race Veterinary examination was ordered by Stewards with grade 3 lameness being found in the off foreleg. The gelding was treated by the attending Veterinarian. Trainer Mr W Baker’s stable representative was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to its next start. Stewards notified Mr Baker in coming days.

KIPANUI- Raced at the rear for the majority of the event. Improved into the race despite laying in when racing in the home straight.

CENTAUR- Raced erratically from the 200m in the home turn before being corrected by the rider.

MOORABINDA MICK- Jumped in the air as the start was affected, raced at the rear for the majority of the event and from the 300m point began to come into the race, running on well while racing wide over the final stages.

UNLEASH- Raced wide for the majority of the event and when entering the home turn drifted out further to race extremely wide of the final stages of the event.

MERLOMANN- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. Began to improve into the race from the 300m point ran on strongly over the concluding stages. Stewards acting under the provision of LR67(1) issued a fine of $100 to Trainer Ms. K Johnston for a late declaration of a rider on MERLOMANN and in Race 2- CRAIGLEA MERIDA by the prescribed time.

TORO DE CARGA- Forced to ease off the heels of SNAKESKIN approaching the 1100m point.

AREYA TUCHUZY- Bumped with GOIN’SKITZ at the start. On returning to scale Appr Jky J Metcalfe advised Stewards her saddle had slipped over the final stages of the event and that she was unable to fully test her mount out over the concluding stages.

MUST BE THE MONEY- Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. Appr Jky M Goring then attempted to redirect his mount and headed towards the inside rail. Had to ease momentarily when a run had ceased to the outside of AURELIAN BLANC with MUST BE THE MONEY being forced to take a position behind that horse. Appr Jky M Goring when questioned by Stewards Mr Goring advised he would redirect his mount to the outside of AURELIAN BLANK and obtain rails run, “being the shortest way home and ride for luck”. Stewards noted his explanation.

SHOTGUN SIXTYFOUR- Stewards replaced Jky N Fazackerley with Appr Jky L O’Donnell at the request of Mr Gary Geran, stable representative of the Geran Stables due to Jky Fazackerley having to return to Toowoomba for other engagements. Bumped with BASIL’S BOW which continued to lay in at approximately the 1300m point.

BILLILICIOUS-Stewards spoke with Trainer Ms O Cairns regarding the late declaration of a rider. Due to an administration error the time reflected for the Jockey being engaged was incorrect and incomplete. Stewards accepted Ms Cairns explanation and after viewing Racing Australia’s data in relation to this matter. Stewards took no further action. Began to weaken from the home turn.

AURELIAN- BLANC- Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room during the early stages of the event behind BILLILICIOUS.

GOIN’ SKITZ- Began awkwardly when it jumped with its head in the air. Then bumped with another runner and dipped after the start. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
